Xbox 360
Looks like the Xbox 360 made a pretty big splash this last week. All reports I have read seem to have mixed reviews. The overall response from my friends at xblGames.com are positive. This group is a more mature (or sometimes just older) group of gamers that put more focus on the games and the console than the smack talk, although you can certainly get most of them to step up to the plate with a simple challenge.

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving. This is one of my favorite Holidays, although I am known as somewhat of a scrooge for most Holidays.
Thanksgiving is always a time of personal and family reflection, along with great food and football. This years trip to the in-laws will be a little hard for us. My father in-law passed away a month ago and this will be our first holiday without him.
I always look forward to the drive. In 18 years of marriage I have become spoiled on road trips. My wife likes to drive and let me just ride along playing on my laptop. Over the years I have done some of my best programming in a car.
Then upon arrival there is all this food and football. And being a Dallas Cowboys fan has a real benefit on Thanksgiving day as they are a perennial favorite for Thanksgiving day games.

Mississippi Genealogy
Several years ago this site was dedicated to Mississippi Genealogy Research. I did not realize until recently that several search engines are still listing us under this heading. Not exactly sure why this old data has not been updated, but, if you do a Google search for Mississippi Genealogy you will find us listed with the heading of “Offering services to help with Genealogy Research in Mississippi.”
If you are here based on that information, we still may be able to help you. I am attempting to find the old pages and see if we can repost that data somewhere for anyone who is interested. Please feel free to check back with us or drop me an email, my address is listed under my profile.

HOF Racing pegs T. Labonte, Raines to drive

Now how can this get any better?
My childhood hero Roger Staubach, my favorite all time quarterback Troy Aikman, “Texas” Terry Labonte and Tony Raines working together in my favorite sport, NASCAR!
There is no doubt that I have a new favorite Nascar Team, Hall of Fame Racing. Aikman and Staubach have already shown great leadership abilities with their patience in getting into Nascar.
I am already looking to the 2006 season with even more enthusiasm.

Mr. Mom
My lovely wife has been away for a few days, and I am soooo glad she is back !!
I will admit that my teenage daughters are not as hard to take care of as they once were, but, I know that my wife does so much on a daily basis to make our family run smoothly. I consider myself a pretty good man when it comes to helping around the house, however, keeping up with the kids and all their functions is a little overload on top of my daily work and duties.
My wife would call and start asking me about things that I had no clue. And if I did not write it down, well, you can just assume I forgot it.
Welcome home !!!

Professional Sports
As a kid growing up I was a major NFL Football fan. My beloved Dallas Cowboys were as close to my heart as anything else in life. Over the years I never missed a game. In 1997 when I moved to Mississippi I purchased Direct TV for the sole purpose of getting all the Cowboy games.
I began loosing interest in Professional sports in 2000. With free agency in football the loyalty issue was lost. No longer was a player a part of a team for years. Roger Staubach was a Dallas Cowboy, Troy Aikman was a Dallas Cowboy, Emmitt Smith, well that was it. I lost interest when Emmitt went to play for the Cardinals.
In February of 2001 I just happened to catch the Daytona 500. I had always been a fan of racing and Nascar, although I did not pay as close attention as I had to the NFL or NBA. Since that race I have not missed a Nascar race. I stopped watching the NBA except for the playoffs or an occasional San Antonio Spurs game.
Now I find myself at the crossroads of November. Nascar has 2 races left, the NFL is in full swing, and the NBA is starting their season. I started playing in Fantasy leagues about a year ago and this has spurred a little interest in the games again.
So I guess I will start watching my Cowboys again when possible, and I am sure I can get a few Spurs games on National broadcasts since they are the reigning Champions. If I can just get past the “thug” appeal of the players, I might actually enjoy some games.
