Busy Times

I guess I have to admit I might be considered a redneck, a high tech redneck, but a redneck just the same. No I don’t hunt and fish, I don’t have a rebel flag, but, follow the trail.

Every year February is a little busy, Valentines Day on the 14th and my wifes birthday is just a few days later. So being the typical male it causes stress trying to be the thoughtful and giving soul I know I should be. Especially when the Daytona 500 is usually on the same weekend as it is this year.

My biggest concern today is that the Duel 150’s gets tapped accordingly so I can watch them tonight at my leisure. Now I have to decide how supportive I can be tonight watching Ice Skating with my girls. It’s their sport, it’s their time, but, the race is on…..

Then on Sunday I have my time set aside for Daytona. Yes I know, my wife and oldest daughter are leaving next Thursday for a skating competition, but, I ain’t missin’ my Nascar race. To tell the truth, I am married to the most appreciative and selfless women in the world. She will probably watch the race with me, especially since her man Martin Truex, Jr. is racing and her other man, Troy Aikman, now has a stake in the race.

Should be a busy but fun weekend !!

Thanks WLBT and Jack Hobbs

I just wanted to give a big THANKS to WLBT and Jack Hobbs.

We were lucky enough to have WLBT in Jackson interview Danielle as part of their Morning program in preparation of the 2006 Winter Olympics. We did not know what to expect and Jack Hobbs did an outstanding job of making everyone feel at home in front of the camera.

Jack has a knack for having a little fun with his job and it makes it so easy for those who are not used to being in front of the camera. Danielle started out extremely nervous and quickly looked at ease. Jack asked questions and actually listened to the answers, he then used this information to put everything into perspective.

Your a class act Jack, Thanks !!

Super Bowl, Winter Olympics and NASCAR

Although I did not have a favorite in the Super Bowl, I guess I was rooting for Seattle. However, I am happy to see the Steelers get their victory and Jerome Bettis be able to retire at the top. Pretty ironic seeing how I am a diehard Cowboy fan. Oh well, football is not what it used to be, at least for me.

Now we get on to the start of my favorite sport, Nascar !!

And to fill in some of the missing schedule we have the Winter Olympics to watch. And yes in our house the women’s Figure Skating is the event of all events to watch. If you need some Figure Skating links check out our list at Danielle’s web site.
