New Site - CybersDVDs.com
Like I needed something else to work on, we launched another blog last week. CybersDVDs.com is now up and running with news, reviews and ramblings about anything and everything on DVD.

Yes, I am a geek
Ok, ok, I admit it. I am a geek. Since we did not have computers when I was a kid (yes I am that old), my interest did not start until I was working in retail and got my first glimpse of, believe it or not, BARCODES.
Yep, that’s what did it. I was working in a Books/Music/Video store when we installed the first computer system with barcodes. I was fascinated with the database system and it is what caused me to jump out and start learning about computers.
I have not been outside since, lol, so this cartoon fits me like a glove.

This is one crazy place to be. I have been here for almost 10 years and I still walk around wondering about it. I have lived in several states, mainly Texas and I have never felt like I understood Mississippi.
It is a beautiful place, and it has some of the nicest people in the world, but, it is really a crazy place to live.
When Frank Melton was running for Mayor of Jackson it sounded great, a man on a mission that would take all the necessary actions to straighten out the crime. Now that agenda appears to be totally upside down. Oh there’s a surprise, a politician who did not deliver what he promised.
If you are not familiar with the area, just read this article, it is sure to make your head swirl just trying to follow who is who and what they are doing.

Gasoline Prices
I know I am in trouble now. I got excited about paying $2.43 for a gallon of gas yesterday. That is down from around $2.80 just a couple of weeks ago.
Did someone convince the oil companies that they had enough profits or are they just teasing us?
$2.43 is still ridiculous, but, I am glad to see a little relief. Now if gasoline prices would drop some more I could afford to go to the grocery store.

Never Forget !
In a lot of ways it already seems that we have forgotten what tragedies struck us at the hands of terrorists on September 11, 2001 (911).
Please do not forget. As we forget how critical these events were in our history, it will certainly change the course of our future. We need to be aware that those who attacked us, are still on the loose. We must continue to be concerned for our country’s security, even if it means we are “put out” a little with procedures at our airports, railways and ports.

Steve Irwin - This is a real tragedy, but not unexpected. Steve pushed the envelope and his infectious personality will be sorely missed. We sure hate to bid farewell to The Crocodile Hunter.
Andre Agassi - Thanks for all the years and entertainment watching you play ! In 1992 Andre won the Wimbledon Open, I watched every single match that was TV that year. No, I am not the biggest Tennis fan, but I was laid up in the hospital while recovering from a Heart Attack in the middle of doing Chemotherapy, and it was the best choice on the tube. Oh yes, it was a great year !

Time to start thinking about Christmas Shopping?
As I mentioned before I am surrounded by women in my house so as the only guy I have to start thinking about Christmas early so I was doing my CyberShopping and came across a really nice jewelry store online. Since I do everything else online I have no problem shopping for something like this also. After 20 years of marriage maybe it’s time to think about a new Diamond Ring for my wife! You know that would be a successful gift. Ever see a lady get upset about Diamond Rings ? Sure hope she doesn’t read this.
