Political rhetoric
I am so sick and tired of the Political rhetoric these days. It seems that all politicians do is tell you how bad their opponent is and how they could do everything better. Every Administration has had positive and negative things. There is no one that is going to get everything right for everyone. And all the back biting that we do in politics just makes us look silly to everyone else in the world.
This is so evident from the smallest campaign for a local Mayor to the President of the United States. I would like to hear one speech by one politician that tells me HOW he thinks he can get something done instead of telling me how the incumbent did everything wrong.

Led Zeppelin
Big news this week is Led Zeppelin is going to reform for a concert. As much as I liked Led Zeppelin, I am not sure I would want to see this show.
It seems all these old rockers are trying to relive their youth, and most are doing a poor job of it. Move on guys.
At least artists like Eric Clapton grew and changed with the times and does not try to go around trying to act like a 20 year old in a 60 year old body.

NFL Football in 2007
When I was a kid, this was probably the most anticipated weekend of the year for me. I was a major NFL fan. Even as late as 10 years ago I was still a pretty big fan. I moved to Mississippi in 1997 and immediately bought Direct TV just so I could watch the Dallas Cowboys.
Now I watch some, but it is hard for me to be a real fan. Between free agency and players changing teams as often as their clothes and all the individual focuses of achievements it has lost it’s luster.
Football is a team sport, but these days team does mean what it used to.

End of Summer
With the Labor Day holiday behind us, we can consider summer over, yeah!!
Kids are back in school and there are a lot of things to look forward to. Labor Day signifies a lot of things for me. I know that next weekend will start the NFL Football season and give us some more quality sports to watch, along with a little Fantasy Football.
The biggest thing I look forward to is some cooler weather. Having spent most my life in South Texas and the last 10 years in Mississippi I have a real love for fall. Summer is always great when it starts, but after suffering through the heat of August I am ready for a break from the heat. Unfortunately we have to get through Hurricane season first.
At least we have had some rain in the last week and a bit of a break from the heat wave, and so goes the end of summer.
