So here we are, a couple years into the Tony Romo era, and things are not going exactly the way we would like, oh yeah, we got the stadium of stadiums to play in, but if we can’t win games, who cares.

The Mustangs have always been a favorite of mine, and this list of 1968 Mustang for Sale really grabbed my attention. There is a car here for all types of Mustang fans. From a torn down project car to a totally restored 68 Shelby.

If nothing else I enjoy just looking at the range of restoration people have done to their old car.

Last night I decided to treat my husband and I to some fast food as I was in the mood for something fattening. We went to Taco Bell and both ordered a #7 which is a drink, taco, and quesadilla. The total bill was $10.50. We got home and were concerned because the bag was small and light. The order was there. The taco was as usual. But the quesadilla which was supposed to be chicken had mostly cheese and possibly chicken on it. It was so flat and small that it didn’t even make a meal. I ended up making sandwiches after we had our Taco Bell snack.

Now I know it’s difficult to get consistency at chain restaurants, but this was ridiculous. So if you want an even exchange of food for your dollar this is not the place to go. This Taco Bell is located in the Castlewoods area of Brandon and is number 18271.

In today’s economic situation we need our dollars to buy more not less. I would not suggest this location to anyone.

I was a little surprised I was able to maintain it especially since I had some Tamales from San Antonio, but tradition is tradition. Whenever my wife or I get a chance to go to Texas we have to bring back some Mexican Food from South Texas. 

Now let’s see if I can keep this program going!

I have decided to lose 30lbs and do it with a very simple diet plan that has worked before. I am cutting back on calories and increasing calorie burning activities. That is it, the whole deep dark secret diet program.

And if I can get back down to a 32″ waist I will be thrilled.

Yeah, I know, everyone wants the Turkey and Ham, but me, I love the green bean casserole, stuffed jalapenos, and potato salad. 

Each year it seems that our Thanksgiving dinner takes on a new twist, and this year will be no different. I think it will be one of the few Thanksgiving dinners we have had without any family besides our 2 kids. Of course as they get older we seem to have a few visitors with each meal, and then they all run off with their friends. 

Another one of life’s seasons that is changing right before our eyes!

Today, November 11th is Veterans Day. 

I always thought Veterans Day should be more recognized as a Holiday. What do we celebrate during the year that is more important than the men and women who protect our great country?

Thanks to everyone who has ever served in our armed forces, without you we would not be able to appreciate the great freedoms that we as a country have!

I spent a lot of time in South Texas and I always thought that was the most hot and humid weather there was, until I moved to Mississippi. In July and August the heat and humidity is the worst I have ever felt.

But now, it’s great, the Mississippi weather has turned very nice just in the last couple of weeks.

Now if it will just stay like this for awhile.

Postage? Get real, you want me to mail something, now why would I waste my time and money on postage.

One thing I have learned is how to clear the room any time I want. 5 words, that’s all it takes. And here is how to accomplish this unbelievable feat.

Just get in the room with the kids. Listen carefully (but not obviously) to the conversations you hear. And yes I said conversations, that’s plural, because where there are teenagers there are multiple conversations taking place at one time. When you hear something that you can relate to as a youth, just say the magic phrase.

“When I was your age…..”

That’s it, no need to even finish the sentence, the kids will roll their eyes and quickly make an exit. Usually while taunting me with, “yeah, yeah, we know, you walked to school in the snow uphill both ways and were thankful”

Well, I did.

Is it any wonder I am a geek?

Oh yeah, there is one male Gerbil left, although we have not spent much time together.

Things that I can’t grasp.

• Didn’t we just buy a 24 roll pack of toilet paper.
• Why do they have to straighten their hair?
• How much does makeup cost?
• That bug is smaller than your fingernail, step on it!
• How many pair of shoes is in that closet?
• Start getting ready for a 7pm movie at 2pm.

So, it is a fact, 3 Estrogen – 1 Testosterone = Insanity

Trying to balance the line between preparation and panic can be tricky. With the National Hurricane Center projecting Gustav to make landfall 4 days from now, gas prices jumped 25 cents yesterday and you can not buy bottled water at the local WalMart.

It is hard to get prepared when supplies run out a week in advance. So I guess it may be more important to see if FEMA and such agencies learned anything and start some movement now, and if retailers learned anything to help prepare potential troubled areas with supplies in advance.

There are a lot of DVD Scratch Repair kits available on the market, however, I have had the best results just using a dab of a light was and a lint free cloth. I have tried all kinds of waxes for this, from furniture polish type to car wax. Just make sure to use a very small amount of the wax and gently rub the DVD with the cloth, and buff of the residue.

This may not be the most sophisticated DVD scratch repair, but it has worked great for me.
