More YouTube and less Television

I have spent the last 4 days at home enjoying the Holidays. One of the things I noticed is that we tend to go to YouTube for video entertainment instead of the Television. We have already seen all the Christmas classics a thousand times and there is really nothing on TV.

We used YouTube a lot over the last few days. The kids (teenagers) love to dig up silly videos and show them to us and we can find stuff for them that they have never seen.

A good example is Rich Little. I remember Rich being a great impressionist from when I was a kid. Well now there is Frank Caliendo and the kids could not believe anyone was ever as good as Frank. Well, thanks to YouTube I found some Rich Little videos and showed them.

I think Frank Caliendo would do better focusing on Videos Online instead of a 30 minute TV show (Frank TV).

Try it, go to YouTube and search for some of that old stuff you liked, you may be very surprised at what you find.

Santa Claus Tracker

It’s that time of year again, and the technology sure makes it easier than ever to have an accurate Santa Claus Tracker.

The Norad Santa site has to be considered the Official Santa Tracker.

So make sure to bookmark it and help the kids keep up with Santa Claus.

Toe Injuries

Everyone laughs at the fact that I had a full cast for 2 weeks for a broken big toe and now I have been in a “healing shoe” for the last 3 weeks.

I went to the Doctor on Monday and I could not believe it. The x-ray almost seemed worse than before, I could clearly see the fracture from a distance. So she gave me a different healing shoe to wear for 3 weeks and then I will start weaning into some sort of split inside a regular shoe.

I never thought my big toe would cause such a pain in my …..

Another wonderful December. We are skipping Christmas this year for the most part. It’s just too expensive with all the other things that have gone wrong. I am already looking forward to 2008, not sure why, but it hopefully will be better than 2007.

2 things driving me crazy

There are 2 things that have been making me crazy. The violence in our country and the politics. Both are just out of hand. I am not sure how and if we can get either of these things under control but I think we certainly need to try.

The violence is overwhelming. I have 2 teenagers and it is now to the point where I worry no matter where they are going. Schools are not safe, malls are not safe, is there anywhere that is safe, NO.

The politics have become just attacks on individuals. I really don’t care what one politician thinks of another politician. I want elected officials that will actually say what they will do, and do what they say. Quit trying to tell me how bad everyone else is, start telling me the truth about who you are.

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers

I was a little ticked off tonight when I realized the my beloved Dallas Cowboys game against the Green Bay Packers, which is probably one of the best games this year, is only being telecast on the NFL Network. Holy Moly. What a bunch of crap. Now with this said, I was not so upset when I found out I could call Comcast and have the NFL Network and NFL HD Network added for only $5 a month.

But I know this is not available to a lot of viewers out there. It seems that we are now at the mercy of the cable companies and leagues like the NFL to watch their games. If this is the way it is going to be, I would much prefer that they just go ahead and break it all the way down where I pay for the just the channels I want.

Now in Stock

This is a great idea. NowInStock.net tracks products across the Internet and reports are their availability. It appears that it is focused mainly on tech type items. So if you are tired of jumping from site to site looking for an item to see if it is Now In Stock, check out NowInStock.net.

We are a web service that monitors online shopping web sites to see when products come in stock. This way you never have to filter through hundreds of pages, subject yourself to tons of notification emails, and so on. NowInStock brings everything together in one tight little package.

Black Friday & Cyber Monday Shopping

I was very surprised today. We decided to go shopping this afternoon, even though it was Black Friday. Most the stores had early sales promotions and I guess that got everyone out early, because after lunch it did not seem much busier than a normal Saturday.

A couple stores were fairly steady, but overall the traffic was not bad at all. Maybe Cyber Monday is going to continue to grow while Black Friday sales fade.

Old Nintendo Games

While looking through all the things that are available for kids this Christmas I started getting a little nostalgic remembering when my kids were small and all the fun we had with their old Nintendo games. We would spend hours playing so silly little games, but it was great time together.

Now I am lucky when I can get them to slow down long enough to just talk and hangout for a bit.

Walmart Black Friday Ad

Rumor has it that the Walmart Black Friday Ad has been leaked a week in advance. This is getting to be a yearly ritual. Now this also begs the question, what has society and media come to when the big story is that an Advertisement from WalMart has been leaked early. Whoo Hoo…….

I wonder how many people will try to get a copy of the Walmart Black Friday Ad and see if they can get the deals early.

“Hi, I know it is not Black Friday yet, and it is only Tuesday, but, can you go ahead and give me that special price before everyone else in the world”

Veterans Day Activities

Sunday November 11th is Veterans Day. Make sure and honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces and protected our freedom.

Veterans Day weekend is celebrated on the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. There are lots of Veterans Day events across the country and you can know that Veterans appreciate your acknowledgement and participation.
