Chemotherapy and Humor
I am going to use 2 words that certainly will not appear to go together.
Chemotherapy and Humor.
Why? Because I found out very quickly that you had to have one to survive the other. If you can manage to keep a little sense of humor a big part of the Chemotherapy experience will be a lot easier to take.
Hair, yes, hair! Everyday of my life I woke up, looked in the mirror and gave no thought to what I would look like without my hair. I was a 70's child. You know the kid, blue jeans with holes in the knees, t-shirt, sneakers and a head full (and I do mean full) of hair. It was beautiful. Long, blond and curly.
What was I going to do now ?

chemotherapy and humour.....i am liking this person alot....
i just got diagnosed on xmas eve with hodkins lymphoma and am in to start chemo in 2 weeks. i have to say that whilst i am a usually quirky and morbidly funny man, and laughter is usually my defense mechanism, that this is the only way to go through something like this. not to make a joke about cancer as in most cases it is a very serious thing, but one does need to laugh at the sistuation and find anything bright in an otherwise dark place....
so i will recommend family guy as one of the best places to get some good cancer humour into you or please check out my facebook page 'Team Timmy' and see how this can be seen as a humourous thing....just remember in times like this in life you can either laugh or cry...the former is alot more fun...
good luck to all going through this...timmy xxx
