Antonio Jr Arevalo MANILA, Philippines—The peso inched up again on Tuesday amid hopes the global economy would recover faster this year as the United States registered improved economic indicators. The local currency closed at 42.41 against the US dollar, up by 14 centavos from the previous day’s finish of 42.55 to $1. The US government earlier reported that the unemployment in the world’s biggest economy fell to 8.3 percent in January, the lowest level seen in three years. The favorable employment news led to hopes Americans would increase their consumption, thus increase demand for imported products like those from the Philippines.
Nick Wozniak Thanks again Obama, nice thinking cut the budget by cutting soldiers combat/hazard pay. That must tie into the whole equal class (socialist) America thing. I mean your right, why should soldiers get "bonus's" for getting shot at and blown up on daily basis while lower class Americans are out there struggling. I'm sure the Liberals still have all they're "needed" programs. Are you gonna stop paying us all together again this year too?

During the month, lectures, exhibitions, banquets, cultural events, television and radio programs celebrate the achievements of African-Americans. Since 1978, the U.S. Postal service has participated by issuing a commemorative stamp honoring notable African-Americans.
