First, to the Universe for gifting me with such a miracle baby - everything about him is just perfect, and I've been waiting for him for so long! Second, for a miracle daddy who turns out every day to be more and more than what I could wish for! Then, to our families and friends who are so loving and supportive and made this be such an easy, wonderful experience - all the meals and help and support, without being intrusive, and allowing us the space to figure things out on our own, find our own balance. Lauren Thompson I am so sad to be leaving Georgia. I was so lucky to have met so many wonderful people and it's so true that you have your family and then you have your army family. One of the hardest things I've had to do was move across the country from my family. And right up there with that will be leaving you all. Some of you took me to the hospital when my water broke, held my hand through contractions, came to visit me in the hospital. Cooked my family meals when I was learning to be a new mom. Invited us to thanksgiving so we wouldn't be alone. Some of us just hung out and some of you have been the best friends I will ever have. It's getting closer to the day we leave and I just wanted to say thank you for being part of my army family!
Walteria Watkins Bethea As a person who witnessed children who only get meals at school, I'm amazed at the money and energy church folks will put into anti-gay campaigns while fornicating and breaking up the family structure themselves, but won't give a dime to the poor, needy, victims of abuse...or let me take it up a notch...our own family members/so called friends....until it's time to pass out hams on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Joshua Utter I've realized upon a pondering, that I really don't care much for either bird - chicken or turkey. I love me some eggs, and I really don't mind cooking up the Thanksgiving bird that work gives me every year, but other than that, for the other 360 days... I stick to my cloven-hoofed meals. But not ham. I'm more for pork.
