Lance Davis So as a life long Van Halen fan I was determined not to like the new cd after the way the treated Michael Anthony (original bass player unjustly replaced by Eddie's son Wolfgang) but after listening to samples online I decided to give it a try. Well.... it is good, very very good. To be fair, the backing vocals are a little flat without Mikey there but musically it is tight and DLR sounds as good as ever. Anyone looking for some good old school VH, give it a listen. Sorry Mikey.

John Barnhill Album Review: Van Halen, A Different Kind Of Truth To all you naysayers out there, BITE ME! This is classic VH! Eddie shreds throughout and Dave sounds great. The background vocals work well. If you were worried about Wolfgang on bass, don't! Some heavier sounds on this album along with plenty of the boys' lighthearted lyrics and antics. My favs are Big River and Honeybabysweetiedoll. Other standouts are Chinatown, As Is, Outta Space and Beats Workin'.

Dan Snyder I'm probably going to go on a long rant about this later, but upon first listen I give A Different Kind of Truth a 50 out of 10 (10 for the music, 10 for the amount of scissorkicks I'd be doing right now if I still lived on the 1st floor, 10 for Wolfgang's performance, -0 for not including Mike Anthony because I thought I'd miss him and I don't, 10 for Janie Liszewski for getting Eddie to get out of bed for long enough to make an album, and 10 for Alex Van Halen finally forgiving Dave for nailing his wife, which we all know is the real reason they fired him in the first place).

Douglas Patterson Okay, so my cd player is broke so I went and bought the new Van Halen album so being a musician I had to think fast! what would be the best way to hear the album! so I plugged in my guitar played the cd on the computer and turned the amp up! Playing it through the pickups etc... you get the point !That Is one kick ass Album!!! My hat is off to David lee Roth for his amazing lyrics/Vocals Eddie's playing... wolfgang's bass and the drummer! This is a must have album if you are a Van Halen fan!!!! if your not? get it!!!! you will be! did someone chicken foot ah get the skillet you can't touch this ! sorry Sammy I'd be jealous too !

Steve Senes I'm a big Michael Anthony fan - I think his bass playing and especially his backup vocals were integral parts of the classic Van Halen sound. That said, listening to the new Van Halen record, Wolfgang Van Halen is a beast! Kid is badass! Yeah, I said it! LMAO!
