Interesting Sports Day
Yesterday, Saturday August 4th, 2007 was a very interesting day in sports.
Baseball - Barry Bonds hit # 755 to tie Hank Aaron’s career home run record, a record that a lot of people thought would stand for a lot longer time than it did.
Football - The NFL Hall of Fame inducted 7 new members. Michael Irvin, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Matthews, Gene Hickerson, Charlie Sanders and Roger Wehrli. The highlight had to be Michael Irvin’s speech. Michael seems to have realized the importance of God and family after a rocky end to his career and what he said will certainly be remembered as he spoke of his relationship with God. Look Up, Get Up and Don’t Give Up.
X Games - Ricky Carmichael brought a new level of awareness and showmanship to the games.
Nascar - Robby Gordon proved again, he can dish it, but he can’t take it. With his help, the Busch race in Montreal was marred by a confusing and ugly finish. He refused to take the black flag from Nascar and contends he won the race. Maybe it’s time for Robby bail on his not so stellar Nascar career.
