Illegals boycott America, we boycott Cinco de Mayo

On Fox & Friends this morning there was an interview with Bob Griggs. Bob is promoting a boycott on Cinco de Mayo day in retaliation to the planned boycott of America by the illegal aliens on May first. Excellent idea !
The illegal aliens believe they can cripple our economy, and they may have an impact on it, but, I think it is ridiculous that illegal aliens are in the United States boycotting the United States.
How have we got ourselves into such a position to allow outlaws to march in our streets ? And illegal means illegal, period. I have no [...]

Interesting Google Ads

I have discovered that if you use a Contextual advertising system such as Google Adsense you have to take the good with the bad. Several ads have been running on this site that really go against my personal views. I am trying to keep up with the filters, but it is time consuming.
So please remember, the small print….
Advertisements you see may not reflect the opinion of the management of this blog, you must be 18 years of age or older to qualify, tax and title not included and some side effects may cause extreme emotional discomfort by anyone who actually [...]

Getting laid in the NYT (part 2)

A while back I commented on the New York Times's reluctance to print "get laid" (even in quoted speech). Then it occurred to me to check out what the paper did with the movie Sammy and Rosie Get Laid (1987: directed by Stephen Frears, screenplay by Hanif Kureishi). And, surprise, it had no problem with the title back then; Vincent Canby did a review on 30 October 1987, and the title has appeared in the paper's pages a number of times since then (though some publications referred to it just as S

If You Don’t Surf, Don’t Start: Lost Does it Again

I first caught a whiff of Lost’s latest(and greatest?) ad campaign when EXPN’s Jon Coen posted a smooth read on it not many moons ago. Not long after that first view of the ad, I walked into my Southern California hotel room to find full page of the “If you Don’t surf, Don’t start” campaign neatly ripped out of the latest surf mag’s and gracing my top sheet with all of it’s brilliance, courtesy of my Editor-in-Chief. Lord knows we could use a lot less advertisements in our favorite surf mags, b

Asthma and Allergy Epidemic

Among the recent anti-science, ignorant drivel from right wing Republicans was the tirade by radio talk show host Michael Savage. Because I'll tell you why: The children got extra welfare if they were disabled, and they got extra help in school. It was a money racket. Everyone went in and was t
