New Blogs and stuff…
It seems I always have some little pet project I am playing with on the computer. I have been programming for over 20 years now and still find it fun and challenging. My latest project is BlogSnare. Just a little button map for Blogs across the net. Not much happening so far, but it was fun to put together. I had a lot of editorial help on the functions and layouts from my good friend Don Hampton. He is obviously having a lot of fun with his latest project, Geeky Gizmos, Gadgets and Toys. Thanks for the help Don !!
Helping the Poor - Running for LIfe
While 1000's of my Filipino friends were "r unning for LIFE " i was sleeping for life. In order to help disadvantaged youth in the Philippines stay in high school and go to university, our Real Life Foundation hosted a 5K & 10K fun run in Fort Bonifacio, Philippines. Over 2000 runners, “runners," and walkers joined the cause. I hate running and i hate waking up early, but I would have run/walked this 10K if I had been in the Philippines. Major sponsors included Nike, MTV, Manil

The Roots Tour Bus Crashes; ?uestlove Blogs About It
A tour bus transporting Philadelphia hip-hop group The Roots traveling from Cologne to Paris crashed yesterday. Although the vehicle did a 360 degree spin and crashed into a van, the band reported only minor injuries. Drummer ?uestlove blogged about the crash immediately after it happened. “Since we are sitting on the side of the road, what better way to pass the time while the ambulance comes then to…blog. In reality the crash was all of about 7 seconds…but to do a 360 on the highway and end
Secular Shivers and Religious Fever
In April of this year I posted Blogging Syria to mark the second anniversary of this blog. While commemoration was my primary purpose I have also used it to express a desire to read more Arabic written Syrian blogs. For the next seven months I did not explicitly refer to the subject again. However, don't reach the conclusion that I am a patient and tolerant reader. I am neither. Soon thereafter I lost interest and my enthusiasm dwindled. I reverted to my original list of favorites and pleasantly

How Long Does It Take for a Blog to Get Popular?
When you planned to create your website, you knew that it could reach millions of potential visitors. But now that your website is live, visitors are few and far in between. So, where are the visitors? And why aren't they coming?!
Addicted To Entrecard
Addicted To Entrecard I finally come into my senses. I am back to blogging regularly. Thanks to Entrecard for boosting my morale and increasing my drive. How? By helping me increase the traffic to this blog. What a joy it brings? From a 5,000-ish RealRank, in just a few days, it turns into around 2,800. Boy, what a big leap! What I did is - just dropped around 50 entrecards a day and I am good. Now, it has become a routine to drop and visit blogs, while doing something on the net. I am addic

What Are You Thankful For?
Luke Gedeon just announced the perfect Thanksgiving group project - 7 Things I am Thankful For. Thank you, Luke, for reminding me to slow down and take stock. I tend to forget about doing that during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I’m working on my list of 7 now. Hope you find time to participate!
Who Really Stokes The Flames?
With all the talk about police prosecuting people that foward the viral text naming Baby Peter's mother, I was interested to see the Daily Mail has printed an attack piece which poses the question: So is Baby P's mother wicked, stupid or simply unhinged?. For instance they assert: "Getting out of bed around midday, the 27-year-old would spend the rest of the day, a vodka and Coke in her hand, a cigarette in her mouth, gossiping on line, watching pornography, playing internet poker or other gam
Blog Blazers: 40 top bloggers share their secrets
Stephane Grenier sent me a copy of his newly published book Blog Blazers, 40 top bloggers share their secrets this week. Having a new book mailed to me reminded of my adventures into book publishing when I contributed to a book about Flash optimization back in 2002. Since then I’ve become an avid blogger, and although I read very little paper nowadays I was curious about this project. Stephane interviewed 40 successful bloggers about how they became just that, and the results are hard to put

Israeli Air Force Is Ready To Attack Iran
Source: Exodus Times Israeli Air Force Commander General Ido Nehushtan claims his forces are ready to follow any order to thwart Iran’s nuclear programs. “The IAF is a very robust and flexible force … ready to do whatever is demanded,” the Nehushtan told German magazine Der Spiegel on Tuesday. He added, however, a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities “is a political decision” and has nothing to do with Israel’s military capabilities. Tel Aviv and Washington have repeatedly accu
Miss Opinionated
I love reading your blogs because I love to hear your different perspectives. Over time, I've befriended many of you and now I also love to read your blogs because it's like catching up with a friend over a cup of coffee. Hmmm. That sounds good right now. I'm going to brew a pot and finish this in a minute. Sorry I took so long. I decided I was craving tea instead. I tried an experiment and put my PGtips through the coffeemaker. Don't tell my husband, but I adulterated his coffee pot with tea.
Is It Dorothy Loudon or Am I Losing My Mind?
This morning, I was surfing my fav blogs when I came upon a post on Are You There, Blog? It's Me, Stephen. He did a post of Dorothy Loudon singing "Vodka." It brought back memories of Dorothy singing a brilliant medley from Follies. There's nothing like watching a grand dame going nuts.
Profit Online With A System That Beats The Reverse Funnel System.
by Eliza Mc Namara People often ask me: “What’s the best thing I can do to profit online ?” I’ve never been one to beat around the bush so I say, “Do you really want to know or are you just asking!”. At this point they might say something like, “What’s the secret?!”. I tell them that there is no secret! I tell them that they need to provide value before they can expect people to give them money! It sounds like common sense but I’m still amazed at how much people will do without educating them

Books on Breech Birth
I just found the book I would like for Christmas after reading one of my favorite blogs, The True Face of Birth. In a recent entry, Rixa reviews two books on breech birth. I am going to take her up on her recommendation to buy Breech Birth by Benna Waites as the better choice if you have to pick one. I am hoping I will find this book under the Christmas tree (just emailed my mom), yippee! A couple of years ago a midwife I know mentioned that she always suggests midwifery books that she woul
