Isolationism as reverse psychology

Sometimes, thoughts just pop in my head and I wonder if they have any possible real value?
With all the problems in the world community today and the inability of fixing anything by anyone, I wonder what would happen if all of a sudden the United States just pulled out of every place that is not our soil and proclaimed…
“We are now going to practice Isolationsim”
Kill each other, we don’t care, go ahead, really, it’s ok. We believe we have everything we need to protect ourselves and our borders are now closed. It’s going to be a little tougher on [...]

A new Political Network?

This sounds like an excellent idea. I thought I might be the only blogger on the planet with these feelings, Thanks Political Football !
The answer to your question is NO, you are NOT the only one who is sick of Party Politics. Political FootBall echoes your sentiments. Heck, maybe we can even start our own political network. A network that began with just two reasonable bloggers who are fed up with the status quo and willing to make a stand.
Come on people. There has to be more of us out there. Are you with us?

Sick of Party Politics

Am I the only person sick of Party politics?
Yes, I think one party is better than the other, and I probably agree with 70 - 80% of their platform. But the rhetoric and bashing is driving me crazy. It seems nothing is about what people want anymore, it’s about which party can smear, attack and destroy the other side.
I would like to see one day, just one, where no one in the United States says the words Republican or Democrat. If you think someone is making a bad decision or is doing something stupid, then say that, without using the [...]

Resistance is Futile

Resistance is Futile Written by Press 7 for Celtic on November 22nd, 2008 As a charter member of the Vast Left-Handed Conspiracy, my fellow southpaws and I have always known that left-handers were just the next step up in human evolution. Sure, we may be only 10% of the population now, but what an amazing 10% we are! One day, after we have taken over the world that the right-handers built for us (and build backwards, by the way) we shall revel in the glory of a world that works the way it shou

Hillary Clinton and interbranch rotation

It apparently is a done deal that Hillary Clinton will be Barack Obama's Secretary of State--and that we will be hearing a lot from Doris Kearns Goodwin. One of the discussion points during the last couple weeks has been why Clinton would give up the chance to remain in the Senate for life and to amass institutional seniority and broad policy power (following the primaries, several people compared Clinton to Ted Kennedy after his failed 1980 presidential bid, when he settled in the Senate and e

President Bush Calls for Bailout Of Auto Industry

President Bush, aka the chairman of destroying the Us economy, today called for Congress again to reconsider a bailout for the ailing auto industry of America. With banks in trouble, cars getting repossessed and no one wanting to buy new autos right now, the industry is hurting. Naturally, auto executives are wanting the [...]

Obama economic plan aims for 2.5M new jobs by 2011

Obama economic plan aims for 2.5M new jobs by 2011 WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama promoted an economic plan Saturday he said would create 2.5 million jobs by rebuilding roads and bridges and modernizing schools while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars. "These aren't just steps to pull ourselves out of this immediate crisis. These are the long-term investments in our economic future that have been ignored for far too long," Obama said in the weekly Democr

Investor fear remains deep despite one-day rally

NEW YORK – Since the Nov. 4 election, investors have been abandoning stocks in a kind of slow-motion crash that experts say underlines just how anxious they are about what is likely to be a long and deep recession. Even after a late-day rally on Friday, the benchmark Standard & Poor’s 500 index has plunged 20 percent since the election. That more than wiped out the index’s 18 percent gain in the six trading days ahead of the balloting as optimism grew that Barack Obama would be elected pre

Obama’s Win a Nightmare for al Qaeda

November 4 was a day in which two organizations, which have a lot in common, both lost big: the Republican Party and al Qaeda. Both organizations support restrictions on individual liberty and imposing fundamentalist religious views on others. Both depended upon each other. The Republicans would have been thrown out of office a few years earlier if not for capitalizing on fear of terrorism, and al Qaeda would be in far worse shape if not for the foreign policies of George Bush. The Republicans

Iranian Commander’s remarks at Week of Basij

From Fars News Agency: The Bush administration has created the required infrastructure for attacking Iran and delivered his war plan to Obama, a senior Iranian military official said Saturday, adding that Obama's election has provided Iran with a one-year opportunity to increase preparedness. A Gitmo Commission?

According to the HuffPo and Newsweek today, Obama is considering a middle course between straight-out investigating the need for prosecutions for war crimes and just letting the Bush administration's torturers skate.

Barack Obama’s Two Year Plan

In his radio/You Tube address today, Barack Obama announced what I’m sure some pundit somewhere will call a New Deal-style plan to revive the economy: CHICAGO — President-elect Barack Obama said Saturday that he had started work on a sustained, two-year economic stimulus plan designed to create or save 2.5 million jobs, funnel money toward public works programs to repair the country’s failing infrastructure and invest in alternative energy programs. Mr. Obama’s plan, which he announced in the

A Gitmo Commission?

By Cernig According to the HuffPo and Newsweek today, Obama is considering a middle course between straight-out investigating the need for prosecutions for war crimes and just letting the Bush administration's torturers skate. one idea that has currency among some top Obama advisers is setting up a 9/11-style commission that would investigate counterterrorism policies and make public as many details as possible." "At a minimum, the American people have to be able to see and judge what happ

Obama Tilts to Center, Inviting a Clash of Ideas

NYT By DAVID E. SANGER WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination with the enthusiastic support of the left wing of his party, fueled by his vehement opposition to the decision to invade Iraq and by one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate. Now, his reported selections for two of the major positions in his cabinet — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as secretary of state and Timothy F. Geithner as secretary of the Treasury — suggest that Mr. Obama is pl

World Leaders at G20 Economic Crisis Officially Snub President Bush, Very Sad (Aww)

This video is a nugget of gold in a dank stream of old school 49er shit water. It’s really happening, good friends. It’s hard to believe, yet in little over a month the US will finally be rid of the worst president of all time. It seems all major global leaders are [...]

Finally, Others Are Noticing The Damage Done By The “Jesus Freak” Element Of The Right

You know the ones I’m talking about.  The ones who will literally scream in your face that your going to hell if you haven’t accepted Christ into your life and who believe Jesus roamed the forest for forty days and nights riding a T-Rex.  Religion does not belong in politics and politics doesn’t belong in church. Heresies and other truths Kathleen Parker Here’s the deal, ‘pubbies: Howard Dean was right. It isn’t that culture doesn’t matter. It does. But preaching to the choir produces
