Football questions this week.

1.) Can the Colts offense get past the Bears defense?
2.) Can the Bears offense get past themselves?
3.) Is Norv Turner the next Dallas Cowboys Head Coach?
4.) Did Jerry Jones really consider Wade Phillips as a possible candidate?

Still gotta love those Saints

Even though they were no match for the Chicago Bears today, ya gotta still love those Saints. A year after Katrina the New Orleans Saints were definitely a rare bright spot in the Big Easy.
And you know Cowboy Maloney has to be breathing a little easier today!
Now let’s see what the AFC game brings.
Go Indianapolis Colts !

Call him survivor or old QB, Collins still winning

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Kerry Collins may not be the NFL’s best quarterback. He has a checkered personal history and a losing record as a starter. But here he is, gray stubble and all, a key reason the Tennessee Titans are the NFL’s last unbeaten team with a franchise-best 10-0 mark. The fifth pick overall in 1995, Collins took his first team to the NFC championship game in his second season, and led the New York Giants to the 2001 Super Bowl. But he also had problems with alcohol and the be

Week 12 Defense/Special Teams Fantasy Rankings

By Josh Satler www.profootball101org Must Starts 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions The Lions are making this pretty easy for us. Sitting at 0-10, whichever team is set to play them will be eligible for top billing. Look for Monte Kiffin (Bucs’ defensive coordinator) to go after Culpepper in this one and use his front seven to contain Kevin Smith and the running game. We see the Bucs forcing a few turnovers in this game and possibly taking one back to the house. 2. Chicago Bears vs

The 2008 NFL Broadcast Assignments for Week 12

Athens, GA (Nov 22, 2008) - I will have to admit I was tired when I saw the Fox Sports press release for this weeks games. The headline read "Nine-Time Pro Bowler John Lynch Joins NFL on FOX as Game Analyst". For some reason, my eyes focused on "Pro Bowler". Why would Fox hire a bowler to be a football analyst? Were members of the PBA so desperate to get back on network TV that they had to resort to cross-promotion as football analysts to help their cause? Then I rubbed my eye and read the press

Rideau on active roster, Miller on IR

The Bears elevated WR Brandon Rideau to the active roster and placed T Fred Miller on injured reserve today. Rideau spent the first 11 weeks of 2008 regular season on the Bears practice squad after leading the team with 127 receiving yards and an NFL-high three touchdown receptions on five total catches (25.4 ypr) in the preseason. The University of Kansas product is in his fourth NFL season after entering the league with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2005. Miller appea

NFL Picks, Week 12

Without further adieu, my picks for Week 12 of the National Football League. Hey, we’re only a couple of months from me falling into a deep depression. I hate when football season comes to an end. And I’m already worrying about it. I need to make another visit to my favorite therapist, Dr. Melfi. Hopefully she treats me better than that Soprano guy. New England at Miami (-1) - I have labored over this pick all week. When pressed for an answer during our weekly contest, “Gimme 5,” I went with t

Bears must beat Rams ... or else

Now, I don't want to put too much pressure on the lads in blue and orange, but if they lose to the lowly Rams on Sunday, they shouldn't even bother driving their covered wagons back to Chicago. They should stay in St. Louis, check out the Arch and enjoy some toasted ravioli. East St. Louis would be too far east for these guys. These are a few of my favorite things…

I consider myself pretty lucky to be someone who derives pleasure and finds comfort in a lot of sights, sounds and activities. When I am feeling down, in a funk or that hard-to-describe state of “feeling off,” I am armed with approximately 300 ideas for working through it and come out smiling. Maybe such comforts aren’t always foolproof, but it’s always worth seeing if they’ll do the trick. Yesterday I could feel one of my stressed-out/overworked meltdowns rising to the surface. Impending pa

Corgan : Blame Vedder For The Cubs’ Playoff Exit

It would only be appropriate (though not accurate) at this juncture for a surviving member of Candlebox to hold Mr. Corgan accountable for the demise of ECW.  From Home Run Derby’s Richie Rich: Thursday night during a break at the Smashing Pumpkins show at the Chicago Theater, lead singer and Cub fan Billy Corgan waxed poetic about the Bears winning the Super Bowl in 2012, Mike Ditka coming out of retirement, and his beloved Cubs, while getting in some digs at White Sox fans - telling them t

Pacman’s reinstatement a downer for Cowboys

Commissioner Roger Goodell didn’t do Cowboys owner Jerry Jones any favors by reinstating cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones. In his bid to win at all costs while selling the most expensive tickets, suites, sponsorships, PSLs, etc., in his magnificent new stadium, Jerry Jones is going to welcome back Pacman to a team that doesn’t need him. Right when the Cowboys are getting back injured players and preparing for the most important time of the season, the owner is letting the rooster back in the h

A BLOOD VETTING VAMPIRE TENDENCIES ONE look at British actor Robert Pattinson and you believe he could be a vampire. NFL Week 12 Preview

Jump to Comments (Philadelphia, Pa) —  As the 2008 NFL Season hits the third quarter pole and it is quickly becoming apparent that this wacky season is going to come down to the bitter end (week 17) before everything is said and done.  There are currently 21 teams at .500 or better — tied with 2002 with the highest number of teams with that mark after 10 games - so practically every team in the parity-laden league has a shot for one of the 12 coveted playoff berths. Surprisingly two teams (Tenne

The return of Romo and Terrence Newman were exactly the shot in the arm that this team needed. Although it took the offense a while to get going, once the fourth quarter came, Marion Barber took over. Barber who led the league in fourth quarter rushing last year (this year he ranked 32nd coming into t
