Christmas Tree Sales

Over the last few years it has been reported that live Christmas Trees Sales continue to decline, while artificial Christmas Tree sales are growing.
There are probably a lot of reasons for this including the time it takes to shop for a tree and the ability to haul it. Plus as with almost everything else, online Christmas tree sales are sure to make it easier. Why run around town fighting the Christmas tree sales when you can have a Christmas Tree delivered to your door.
And just think, it may be the last Christmas Tree you ever have to buy.
If you’re new [...]

Fun Stocking Stuffers

One of the fun things to do in the Christmas Shopping frenzy is to find Fun Stocking Stuffers.
It can be a little bit of a challenge depending on the person, but it is always fun to try and find small, inexpensive stocking stuffers. Of course, online shopping has made this a lot easier, but the real fun is shopping the old fashion way for these items.

Time to start thinking about Christmas Shopping?

As I mentioned before I am surrounded by women in my house so as the only guy I have to start thinking about Christmas early so I was doing my CyberShopping and came across a really nice jewelry store online. Since I do everything else online I have no problem shopping for something like this also. After 20 years of marriage maybe it’s time to think about a new Diamond Ring for my wife! You know that would be a successful gift. Ever see a lady get upset about Diamond Rings ? Sure hope she doesn’t read this.

Erin Bode to tour in Italy

While many St. Louisans are still recovering from Thanksgiving dinner or doing some Christsmas shopping, singer Erin Bode and her group will be living la vita di visita this week as they once again wing their way overseas to tour Italy. This time, Bode and band will do nine shows in nine different venues between November 28 and December 7, covering both Sicily and the mainland. Bode's tour schedule doesn't yet list any St. Louis dates for December, but her new Christmas-themed CD A Cold Decemb

It’s Snowing at Tysons Galleria

Holiday shoppers dreaming of snow can find snow falling inside, yes…inside, Tysons Galleria shopping mall in Tysons Corner, Virginia, every day through Christmas Eve.  In one of the areas “coolest” promotions to attract shoppers, from November 22 until Christmas Eve, “snow” will actually fall from the ceiling, inside the upscale shopping and dining mall. The first “snow show” will begin daily at 11:00 a.m., falling from the top level and descend through all three levels of the mall.  Sant

Early Morning Shopping

There was a time in my younger years when I was unhappy because the mall didn’t open til 10 a.m.  On Saturday mornings, I was there when it opened and stayed as long as I could.  I would’ve been there earlier if they were open earlier. How times have changed!  I had wanted to go up to the Amish place to get eggs.  It’s probably about 20 or 25 miles from my house.  We can’t call ahead to see if they have any and I figured Vince wouldn’t be happy if we drove up there and struck out.   They’ve clo

Soupy Saturday

I'm not a soup person. The one exception is homemade vegetable. I'm a sucker for that. If I ever get the joy of being reunited with my late, sainted grandmother, I hope she has a pot of it -- and a cherry pie -- waiting. But otherwise, the only time I eat soup is when I'm sick. And the only thing I've had to eat for the past 24 hours: soup. Apparently, I'm brain-sharing with my MEF the MonkeyGirl and am in total empathy with the illness she brought home from her business trip. I think it's an e

Putting Your Finances In Order

The current economic downturn is bringing to light lots of financial crises, On a big-business level, and an at-home personal level too. It makes me want to sit back, and take stock of my life, and my money. It also makes me want to take a long hard look at how, and why I spend my money the way that I do. I have very little debt, and I pay my credit cards off in full each month. Still though, there are months when I put more on credit than I need to. There are months when I spend more on fo

Challenged

I was just out grocery shopping and as I was standing in line I glanced at the magazines. The cover of People had the sexiest man of the year on it. He was good looking, very good looking in fact. The problem? I have no idea who he is. Ack. I feel so old. I feel so out of it. I don't watch a lot of TV any more and I don't go to a lot of movies but I honestly didn't think I was this media stupid. I'm sorta depressed about this. The only good thing is that I am very Internet savvy. Give

Dark days see warnings of worse to come

By Alan Beattie in London November 21 2008 Financial Times [London] The weekly newsletter sent out on Friday by Fathom, a London-based economic consultancy, said it all. “It’s getting really ugly out there,” it said. “It may be true that we have passed the first phase of this crisis, but that does not mean the next phase will not be worse, perhaps very much worse.” The investors reading those dire warnings will already have spent their week seeing a heap of evidence piling up that the economi

HOW TO: Put Secret Santa Online

Secret Santa - the gift-exchange game that’s either the highlight or low-light of the festive season in workplaces everywhere - is getting the online treatment again this year. 4 year-old social site Elfster is pitching itself as the best way to manage the whole process online. The game, in which you buy a gift for a randomly-selected colleague you might not be close friends with, intentionally shakes up the cliques that typically form at your workplace. Any yet, the outcome is usually a cra

Friday on Saturday and Meme Fun

1. The last performance I saw live was the 9 to 5 musical. 2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is good company and delicious food. 3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is nearly complete. 4. Thoughts of everything I need to get done before the end of the month fill my head. 5. I wish I could wear that little dress of mine, but I think I may need to lose a few pounds before I can fit into it again. 6. Bagpipes remind me of weddings, parades and funerals. 7. And as for the weekend, Saturda

I haven’t been around for a while. Basically, I’m trying to achieve some normalcy in my offline life when I took a little leave online. I’ve been an overflowing bag of mixed emotions lately and I’m trying to sort things out one step at a time. Yeah, some last quarter of the year drama, huh. But let’s not get into that. Today has been a tiring day. The Little Lady went to Girl Scout Camp in school, so we both woke up early on a Saturday morning. I left her in the school gym at 8:00 am; took

Busy weekend

This is shaping up to be a pretty busy weekend here in our house.  First of all I really need to start the Christmas shopping so I have decided today will be the day that I brave the malls.  Hopefully they won’t be too busy, but I have heard a lot of horror stories already about people having to wait in line for over two hours at the checkouts.  Hopefully this won’t happen to me.  Then later on today we are having our annual Santa clause parade here in town so my husband and I and the kids will

Christmas is Coming… Where are you shopping?

Suddenly this morning I began to have a Holiday shopping panic attack. Christmas is just around the corner and I have no idea what to get for the boys or for my husband.  I could do the boring thing and hit the mall but this year I want to do something different. I want to shop sites that feature items that are unique and handmade, items that not everyone else on the planet will have.  I’ve dipped my toe in the water and have purchased something from someone on my list from an Etsy Shop (have t

David Cook - The debut album

Just in time for Christmas shopping, it’s American Idol winner David Cook. The record is exactly what you would expect, watered down radio friendly pop-grunge. I prefer the rougher edges of his hard to find real first record, Analog Heart. That said, there are some hints of interest on this record. The song Bar-ba-sol is the hardest rocking and best song on the record. If he can write more songs like this and stay away from the sappy power ballads he’ll be ok. Bar-ba-sol - David Cook

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

I know it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet, but we did a little Christmas shopping last night and it put me in the holiday spirit. That means it’s time to elf it up. Enjoy. Something’s gone wrong with Elf Yourself. I’ll try to fix it later.

Wacky, Weird, Whimsical Christmas Gifts For Mom
