My new old car…
As I have posted just recently, I love Classic cars. To me this means “old cars”, which can be anything pre 1980 and typically my favorites are anything made in the 1960’s.
My new project is a car I bought sight unseen, and I think it will work out just fine. It’s a 1965 Plymouth Valiant 100.
Thanks to the internet, decoding all the serial numbers is pretty easy. It only took me 30 minutes or so to decode all the numbers I could find on the car, including the VIN, Engine code and Fender Tag.
I will be posting periodically [...]
My Love of Cars and Classic Cars
I have always been a car fan. From the time I was a small child my father always had a few cars sitting around he was working on, or as he woud say, “piddling with”. And if I had just a few of the cars I saw come and go in our garage I could retire right now.
My first car was a hand me down 1967 Ford LTD. It was not the typical car my friends were driving, but I loved that car. With a 390 V8 it was a cruiser, a very fast cruiser at that. The hot car [...]

The Prologue results determine starting order for cars in the Late Classic, Classic and
Milking the taxpayer
Milking the taxpayer (Friday 21 November 2008) THE government cannot escape its responsibility for the outrageous fare rises being imposed on the travelling public by the train operating companies. Instead of taking the railways back into public ownership, as it promised when in opposition, it has left this prime example of Tory government larceny untouched. Supposed regulation of fares is a farce. Regulated fares rise by inflation plus and unregulated fares by whatever the priva

Classic Car insurance tips and comparison sites
When you buy your car, one of the first things you need to do is to take out some sort of cover for the vehicle. It is a legal obligation which has to be obeyed by every single driver in the UK; no cover means hefty fines, possibly losing your licence or in some circumstances you can face prosecution. Insurance is expensive when you start driving, premiums sometimes cost more than the actually car itself so the entire UK should be experts when it comes to obtaining the correct cover for the c

Later they moved to Janesville, where their father worked as the operator at the CNW South Janesville yards. It is there where the seeds of Mark and Mike's love of trains were sown. They attended Marquette University Dental school and became dentists in the US Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam. Taking advan
DON’T LOOK DOWN • by Sarah Silvers
“What’s up, Doc?” Wally stumbles through my doorway in his Bugs Bunny tee shirt, swinging a couple of six packs onto the table. “BNI!” I pull out some weed, hit speed dial for pizza, and drop into my sagging couch for a classic “Boys’ Night In”. Susannah is the love of my life, but it’s sure easier hanging with Wally. A few swigs and tokes, and we’re off. “Shit, man,” I exhale, eyeing his shirt, “life sure would be easier as a cartoon character.” I pass him the joint. “I could walk off a cl
Box Office: Twilight Goes For The Throat with $33M Friday; Possible $70.5M Weekend
Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, the leading characters in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight, may be models for abstinence and chastity, but the movie’s hardcore fans are not abstaining from the box office and their fervor for the Summit release is anything but chaste. After a reported $7.5M for Thursday midnight screenings, throngs of girls have packed multiplexes all day long, and the Catherine Hardwicke-directed movie has generated another $25.5M since sunrise Friday for a spe

Toys in the attic
Ahhh, toys. Who doesn't (didn't) love toys? (And I'm not even referring to adult toys, which is another subject for another time.) Shit, I still have superhero toys all over the fucking place. Although I don't actually play with them. I came across a story about the most recent items inducted into the Strong National Museum of Play's National Toy Hall of Fame: the ubiquitous stick, the Baby Doll and the skateboard. A hall of fame for toys, who knew. A big fan of toys to this day I though
Insufferable Blasphemy!
Since I have already set the precedent of responding to online articles in a completely un-timely way, I may as well respond to the Vehix.com article “Prepare to Get Scared: Top Ten Ugliest Cars in American History.” The article ran more than a month ago, so I obviously have my finger firmly on the pulse of the automotive blogosphere. Author Nathan Adlen does a nice job in producing a well-written riff on pretty familiar theme. Bashing ugly, terrible, and generally unpop

My wife and I Entered the 1967 Packard in a Regional Competition and Met A Famous Person
My friend and I entered a small classic car show here in Warm Springs, Georgia. It was run by the local Mayor by the name of Jonathan Rinne. The Mayor is a movie fan from way back, having a small part in the film "P.O.S.H (TV)". A love of cars was grown slowly. I entered my 1967 Packard in the cruise with the hope of winning first place. I spent 2 days getting the Packard. I had done my research on the Packard by going over to VIN checker for a check at the accuracy of the car. After conside

True Story: My 1956 Oldsmobile in a Show ‘n Shine and Met A Famous Person
