Illegals boycott America, we boycott Cinco de Mayo

On Fox & Friends this morning there was an interview with Bob Griggs. Bob is promoting a boycott on Cinco de Mayo day in retaliation to the planned boycott of America by the illegal aliens on May first. Excellent idea !
The illegal aliens believe they can cripple our economy, and they may have an impact on it, but, I think it is ridiculous that illegal aliens are in the United States boycotting the United States.
How have we got ourselves into such a position to allow outlaws to march in our streets ? And illegal means illegal, period. I have no [...]

Interesting Google Ads

I have discovered that if you use a Contextual advertising system such as Google Adsense you have to take the good with the bad. Several ads have been running on this site that really go against my personal views. I am trying to keep up with the filters, but it is time consuming.
So please remember, the small print….
Advertisements you see may not reflect the opinion of the management of this blog, you must be 18 years of age or older to qualify, tax and title not included and some side effects may cause extreme emotional discomfort by anyone who actually [...]

I see it all through my window, it seems

Yes, I did know that a Secretary of the Treasury had already been named before I posted the article about Larry Summers, but leaving aside the fact that Tim Geithner's isn't a name I associate with anything other than Larry Summers, and given that there's still no law preventing Larry Summers from being placed somewhere else in Obama's administration, I didn't think this was something it was safe to forget about. A timely resignation: " Palo Alto Police Chief Lynne Johnson announced her retireme

Officials: Democrats plan quick 2009 start on bills

Eager for a quick start, Democratic congressional leaders intend to begin work in early January on priority legislation so it can be ready for President-elect Barack Obama's signature shortly after he takes office, according to officials familiar with the plans. These officials said an economic aid measure, legislation to expand health care for lower-income children and a loosening of Bush administration rules covering federally funded embryonic stem cell research are among the bills at the ce

Hold your 2009 election date bets!

CONSERVATIVES 42% (-1) LABOUR 31% (+1) LIB DEMS 19% (+1) ICM reports an 11% Tory lead After all the election speculation following the non-past voted weighted MORI poll on Tuesday reports are coming in of a new ICM poll which puts the Tories 11% ahead. The main difference between ICM and MORI is that the former takes measures to ensure a politically balanced sample through past vote weighting. MORI doesn’t and as I was arguing on Wednesday the latest survey simply had far too few 2005

ICM: Tories 11% ahead

An ICM poll for The Sunday Mirror has the Conservatives on 42% (-1%), Labour 31% (+1%), LibDems 19% (+1). Changes compared with 8th November. Graphic after X factor.

Michigan Congressman Shows What’s Wrong with the GOP

This is the problem with the GOP. This moron Joe Knollenberg could not have made it any clearer than he does following the first question Neal Cavuto asks him. When dealing with the bailouts, Neal asks, “Why do you draw the line with our money?” Knollenberg, a supposed Republican, responds, “It is not your money!” Un. Be. Lievable. Where did the money come from Congressman? It came from the wallets of the people, the people who give you the consent to govern them. Where is the GOP outra

Weekend BO: ‘Twilight’ A Monster

Steve Mason at Fantasy Moguls: Chalk the success of Twilight up as one for the crowd that says “There’s too much sex and violence in Hollywood movies.” The author Meyer, a Mormon and has never tried alcohol or seen an R-rated movie, is the biggest star in the industry this weekend. Twilight is about vampires, but the books, and now blockbuster movie, are about old-fashioned romance and chivalry. Edward and Bella are the morally sound antidote to TV shows like Gossip Girl and the new versio

ALTERNATIVES TO THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA

Herb Denenberg writes a wonderfully rich column in yesterday’s Bulletin about how the mainstream media is destroying democracy and has virtually abandoned honest, unbiased reporting.  I couldn’t agree more.  As consumers of information we have to start to demand “fair and balanced” reporting.  This might mean turning off the big three - ABC, CBS, and NBC.  Imagine how their advertisers would respond if all of the conservatives in America simply stopped watching! When was the last time The Inqu

Conservatives Gain Influence in SC State Senate

Gov. Mark Sanford appears to have picked up added support to bring pressure to pass more of his agenda. Davis, Mulvaney and Dorchester’s Mike Rose are likely Sanford allies. The State This is positive in the sense that Sanford should get a little more support from the Senate on fiscal issues.  It still may not be enough, but it’s a step in the right direction.  The RINOs have been somewhat marginalized as a result of this year’s elections, but there is still a lot of work to do.

You Gotta Love the Hard Right Note the message on the sign held by the guy in the window. This journal of the paleo right wing nicely summarizes what conservatives hold dearest, the only issue they really care about when all is said and done: lower tax rates. That was their answer for everything, and when it also became President Bush's answer for everything, his presidency was effectively over. Like most Americans, we won't miss it a bit. The only problem is he has two months left. His preside

Gaffe

Hilzoy Hilzoy catches U.S. News columnist and registered wingnut James Pethokoukis telling a truth that might more prudently have been left unspoken: that conservatives fear a national health care plan not because it would fail, but because it would succeed and make voters more favorable to government social programs in general, and to liberals and Democrats for addressing the problem. Pethokoukis quotes with horror an analysis of the impact of the NHS on British politics: After the Labor Party

The joke’s on . . . who?

Conservatives touted it as a joke.  Liberals are wacky enough to take it seriously.

Obama’s Cabinet filling up, some lefties annoyed

Part of me wonders how much of this was already happening behind the scenes while the race was still raging on. Obama’s campaign had monumental discipline and message control, so it wouldn’t surprise me that much. We’ve got Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State, Eric Holder for Attorney General, Bill Richardson for Commerce Secretary, a few Clinton holdovers, and one or two others. None officially confirmed yet, mind.. Conservatives are ready to set things on fire, and some of the more libera

NewAge Storm Warning: The Sun's Coming Out

Well now, isn't this (ahem) interesting? It seems one of America's top pollsters (and newest Obama cult apologist) John Zogby - after polling Obama supporters and discovering they're idiots - doesn't want to poll McCain supporters! (All together now: Awwww!) Documentary filmmaker, John Ziegler (the guy who paid for the first poll) has offered to pay for the McCain poll, but - if McCain supporters turn out to be better informed (because they're not media suck-ups) - then Zogby would have to f

Persecution Today: Atheists are the New Jews

Truly, humanity has come a long way. In the early Muslim states, when economic or military woes beset the empire, the state’s stance on Judaism (and its Jewish subjects) went from a surprising level of egalitarianism to outright persecution, beheadings, you name it. Europe was no better. All levels of society, from villager to Bishop, blamed the evils of the day (war, plague, economic collapse) on Jews, Muslims, and anyone who didn’t toe the particular religious line. It was a bad way to live

Let’s GET REAL…No DENOMINATIONS!

Ex-Episcopalians to unveil church constitution Associated Press - 11/22/2008  Breakaway Episcopalians are preparing to form a new Anglican Church in North America.  A church constitution, to be unveiled December 3 at Wheaton College near Chicago, would unite some 100,000 disaffected former Episcopalians who now adhere to various conservative Anglican archbishops abroad. Rev. Daryl Fenton says breakaway Episcopalians will soon unveil a new church constitution.   “What’s being planned is the or

What? Joe The Plumber For Secretary Of Defense?

Center right; say it often enough and...

Who knows?  Maybe folks will start to believe it.  Despite an overwhelming victory a couple weeks ago by Democratic candidates, despite both Houses of Congress now controlled by even larger numbers of Democrats, despite the electorate clamoring for health care reform, despite Americans actually trusting science and wanting environmental protections, despite an electorate desiring more government to address infrastructure and social needs, there are clearly a bunch of conservatives who will atte

Economics homework for the leader of the Conservatives

Notes on the Coming Conservative Ascendancy

Only a few days after a liberal Democratic sweep of the 2008 elections might not seem like the best time to look for signs of a coming era of American political history in which conservative principles and perspectives are dominant. But the reality is that just such an epoch is already beginning to emerge. The signs are there for those with eyes to recognize the Net Generation, the prudence to study their actions and the humility to hear their words. The NetGeners are the future of the conserv
