Top Television Shows

According to Lycos the following list is the Top 10 Television shows. I watch more TV since installing a DVR, simply because I can record and watch it when I have time instead of trying to fit into the Networks schedule. Only #8 & #9 are on my recorded list. I guess I am still a non mainstream viewer.
1. Grey’s Anatomy
2. CSI
3. Desperate Housewives
4. Dancing with the Stars
5. CSI: Miami
6. Lost
7. CSI: New York
8. Criminal Minds
9. Without a Trace
10. Ugly Betty

Nascar Nap

If you ask me, I will tell you I watch Nascar every week. If you ask my wife, she will tell you I take a Nap every week when Nascar is on. Just because I watch some of the race with my eyes closed does not mean I do not know what is going on, and having a DVR doesn’t hurt either.
I will say I was wide awake to see Jeff Gordon bump Matt Kenseth right off the track at the USG Sheetrock 400 with a few laps to go. Oh well, I guess Nascar officials where watching with [...]

AT&T gearing up for Total Home DVR rollout?

Filed under: Misc, DVRs, Set-top boxes, FiberTake this one with a hearty helping of salt for now, but we've received a bit of information that hints strongly at AT&T revealing a whole home DVR (possibly dubbed Total Home DVR) in the very near future. Unfortunately, details about the unit itself are still few and far between -- we've no idea who will be manufacturing it, and we can't confirm / deny whether it'll revolutionize your life (or the way you see U-verse TV). Still, we've reason to

Dish Network lied to me; executive customer service guy is a douche

Dish Network lied to me; executive customer service guy is a douche Posted by: Cap'n Ken in Capns World, Tech & Whatnot, tags: customer service, dish network, dvr Update: I had also sent an email in to a bunch of corporate email addresses at Dish, and today (Aug. 18) somebody got back to me with an apology for my customer service experience and promise to make the appropriate “adjustment” to my account. Hopefully this is a long-term change in what they are charging me.

The Camera You Can Roll Under Any Skirt

This might look like a miniature Death Star but, in actuality, it’s a top secret spy cam. The DVR CamBall is the first ever digital video camera and MP3 player that’s as small as a ping-pong ball and able to record at 320×240 or 640×480 resolutions. What better way to sneak a camera into top-secret facilities than to roll it under the door. Unfortunately, once it’s out of your grasp their is little you can do to aim it. That’s fine though, since this thing’s got the capability to hold up to

PS3 PlayTV DVR recordings will not be transferable, won’t record HD

PS3 PlayTV DVR recordings will not be transferable, won’t record HD Posted on August 14, 2008 by Dan Sony’s PlayTV DVR add-on for their PlayStation 3 console is coming to the UK on September 19th for GBP 69.99 (about $130 US) and when it does it looks like recorded programs will not be transferable. Initially it was understood that once you record a program with PlayTV you’d be able to transfer that program to your PC, Memory Stick, or PSP to be viewed elsewhere but Eurogamer has fond out

PS3 PlayTV Delayed Till September 19th

Sony’s PlayTV DVR for PS3 has been delayed until September 19th. The DVR add-on for the PS3 was announced last autumn and was originally scheduled for a September 10th release. PlayTV will allow you to pause and rewind live Freeview TV and features dual tuners to allow you to watch one channel while you’re recording another. It will even let users record a program while they are playing a game. It will however be available for European Playstation owners only (for now that is).Read the latest ne

PlayStation 3 PlayTV is Non-Transferable After All

When we heard that PS3 PlayTV DVR recordings would be transferable to PSPs and PCs, we we're absolutely thrilled, proclaiming, "For the first time in a long time, we want to grab Sony and kiss them square on the lips." Well, put away the Binaca, because Sony has taken back their promise for undisclosed reasons.

PlayStation 3 PlayTV is Non-Transferable After All [Playtv]

When we heard that PS3 PlayTV DVR recordings would be transferable to PSPs and PCs, we we're absolutely thrilled, proclaiming, "For the first time in a long time, we want to grab Sony and kiss them square on the lips." Well, put away the Binaca, because Sony has taken back their promise for undisclosed reasons. Now recordings will not be transferable between systems, and HD recording has been nixed for the moment, too (but presumably coming back after launch). So what's left to look forward to

Olympic heaven

I’m completely addicted right now. First, Comcast has HD Olympics live on USA channel and KOMO-TV which are channels 660 and 105. With a DVR, it is nearly perfect, but with NBCOlympics.com, you can watch four different events live. I’m going to be up all night! The best are the live feeds and the mode that I like is that you can watch four videos in real time on your computer and then the watch the big screen too. It is wonderful!
