Busy Times

I guess I have to admit I might be considered a redneck, a high tech redneck, but a redneck just the same. No I don’t hunt and fish, I don’t have a rebel flag, but, follow the trail.
Every year February is a little busy, Valentines Day on the 14th and my wifes birthday is just a few days later. So being the typical male it causes stress trying to be the thoughtful and giving soul I know I should be. Especially when the Daytona 500 is usually on the same weekend as it is this year.

Super Bowl, Winter Olympics and NASCAR

Although I did not have a favorite in the Super Bowl, I guess I was rooting for Seattle. However, I am happy to see the Steelers get their victory and Jerome Bettis be able to retire at the top. Pretty ironic seeing how I am a diehard Cowboy fan. Oh well, football is not what it used to be, at least for me.
Now we get on to the start of my favorite sport, Nascar !!
And to fill in some of the missing schedule we have the Winter Olympics to watch. And yes in our house the women’s Figure [...]

Kwan made the Olympic Team ?

I guess this seems out of character for me, but Figure Skating is something I am pretty involved in. My oldest daughter Danielle is a Figure Skater, and at the Novice level she too has Olympic dreams. It is a tough sport to work your way to the top.
I am sure I am in the minority on the issue of Michelle Kwan being “given” a spot on the Olympic Team. Yes she has done a lot for the sport, but, there are others who have worked hard over the last few years that now deserve the spot.

2010 Olympic Alert: Figure Skating Schedule Has Been Posted


For those of you planning your life around the 2010 Olympic figure skating schedule (yes, some of us are very ridiculous indeed) the daily schedule has been posted. You can download it here. The competition will wrap with the Ladies Free Skate, which I think means the ISU is anticipating a fierce ladies event. Skating News: Awards Presented at US Roller Figure Skating Nationals


Last night prior to the evening events beginning USA Rollersports hand out the 2008 Annual Roller Figure Skating Awards.
