Is the safest way to fly
Wow, I had never thought about it like that, lol. I know that is not what the person meant to say, but, it is a provocative thought just the same.

Quick Quiz: What's Wrong With This Picture?
By Debbie Schlussel Readers, I'm conducting a test of your instincts. If you had the same reaction as I did when reading this, you pass with flying colors. This morning, I read "People Who Live in Glass Houses," a ridiculous sob story about trendy people who have it "hard" because they bought homes with wall-to-wall windows. It's too hot. It's too cold. It fades their furniture, books, and wood floors. Ya think? So sad, too bad. I love modern and contemporary design . . . a lot. The IKEA and
Sweet Clover Market and FPF
Thanks to Heather Belcher at Sweet Clover Market in the Essex Shoppes for running this bit in her e-newsletter… As summer winds down and fall comes blowing down from the hills, people also tend to see more of their neighbors… at least until the snow starts flying. What a great time to sign up for Front Porch Forum. Have you heard of it yet? It’s free, it was invented locally, it’s informative and fun. Clearly identified nearby neighbors connect over lost dogs, plumber recommendations, block pa

This isn’t what you were looking for but it’s an oldie and goodie… A man boards an airplane, and takes his seat. As he settles in, he glances up and sees the most beautiful woman he has ever seen boarding the plane. He soon realizes she is heading straight towards his seat. A wave of nervous anticipation washes over him. Lo and behold, she takes the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation, he blurts out, “So where are you flying to today?” She turns and smiles, and says, “To

Different Processes, Different Results
There are going to be a lot of "our guy is just as qualified as your guy" accusations flying around as a result of John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin to be Vice President. I think there's an important distinction between her level of experience and Obama's. Whatever his experiential shortcomings, Obama won a long, hard primary battle against a worthy adversary. He went out to the members of his party, he made his case, and he prevailed. He was, no doubt, toughened and tested by the experience.

My Concerns with the Palin Pick
Understandable as it is for Senator McCain to attempt to smooth over the problem of his extreme old age by reaching out to those of us, born in the 1960’s, who grew up loving Monty Python’s Flying Circus, I still foresee a Pandora’s box of problems growing from his choice of Palin as a running mate. Am I wrong - or is this not the right room for an argument? If the worst happened and McCain did not survive his first term, would the world trust, as our leader, the onetime pet-shop owner wh
WALKIN’ ON SUNSHINE
I can barely contain myself!!! I have spent the past few weeks praying to God, literally praying to God, that McCain would choose Palin. It has happened. It was the smartest decision he could have made. Oh thank you Senator McCain for saving this week for me. The past week of the DNC has left me cringing in anger. The local television stations and their stupid “celebrity watches” has pissed me off beyond words. SERIOUSLY, WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK ABOUT CELEBRITIES? If you do, then you have some
