Traffic Control
I think we need to work on Traffic Control on our roadways in this country.
Everyone who drives should be required to read a book like this!
If the states would tighten up a little on giving out a drivers license maybe we could all save ourselves some grief and Auto Insurance Premiums.
Maybe we should require all the traffic control products out there to be loaded with some kind of powder that sprays your vehicle when you hit them, that way we can spot a bad driver easily.
Yeah, it was that kind of drive to work this morning !
If you’re new here, [...]

Traffic Lights need to change
Traffic Lights really need a change. Based on this article, Traffic Light History - Invention of the Traffic Light , traffic lights have been basically the same since the first one was installed back in 1920. Now it’s time for a change.
Take out the Yellow, really. It would take a lot of work, but it would be worth it.
Yellow has come to represent “hurry before the light changes”, or “go ahead and get in the middle of the intersection before it turns red”, and both of these are poor choices.
There is a traffic light on the way home that [...]

Human Highway - Moody Motorcycle
The quality of a musical collaboration is determined by the interplay of two factors — the unique elements each artist brings to the table and the extent to which they are able to work together to find a middle ground. Nick Thorburn and Jim Guthrie’s Human Highway excels on both fronts. Thorburn’s work with Islands and The Unicorns has earned him a reputation as one of the nation’s quirkiest and most talented songsmiths. Erstwhile Islands helping-hand Guthrie offers flawlessly flawed vocals and
Speed Bumps Are For Sissy’s - Speed Walls From China
I guess you can call this a gadget… a speed bump gadget. The Chinese decided that speed bumps were just not enough to slow down traffic on the Jing Zhuang highway…so they built a 2 foot high wall that extends 100 feet long! Looks like people have been using the wall for bumper car action… that has to hurt a bit. Another picture after the break. [Source] ShareThis
Me and My Favorite Stoplight
Coming back from my piano lesson (which is on Monday evenings after work), I almost always stop for this left turn at the intersection of the Pacific Coast Highway and Carmel Valley Road. From the light, you look down on Torrey Pines State Beach... Read and post comments | Send to a friend
Highway 18 - Episode 5: Eye Candy is Dandy!
Well, we're at episode 5 of Highway 18 and we've yet to see an elimination. I'm pretty happy about that - I'd like to see a close race to the finish and I've grown to like all the teams - all for different reasons. It will be tough to watch any of them go home. Tonight we saw the teams head to Golf Channel's studios to audition their best on-camera news stories from the Golf Central desk. On-air personality Tom Abbott judged the auditions, which determined the order the teams got to head to Ni
GM Mid-size Crossovers Earn IIHS Top Safety Pick
By Anna Kretz Vehicle Line Executive Yesterday, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) posted on its web site that the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook have earned its TOP SAFETY PICK award. While there are many different measures to consider a vehicle’s safety, IIHS may be one of the more recognizable organizations that conduct such testing. As with other vehicle programs, when we began to develop these vehicles, we established high targets for
Highway 18: The Spotlight
Tonight on Highway 18, the contestants visit Golf Channel studios to host a Golf Central highlight package. The group will put up with some harsh criticism at the studio and then will be off to the Faldo Institute for a chipping challenge, where teams are not allowed to continue until they hole out a shot. Finally, with elimination on the line, it’s off to Innisbrook Resort to follow in the footsteps of the PGA TOUR on the famed Copperhead Course. Watch all of the excitement tonight, at 9

I know we’ve nearly worn you out with info about last night’s Volunteer Appreciation Gala, but thought you would enjoy this: These are the new lyrics that Jarrod, my husband and I wrote for “Highway to the Danger Zone” which was the the opening song last night. My husband performed the song after the Top Gun movie spoof. From the people up in kidz world Teaching kids how to grow To the greeters at the front door telling people where to go. Welcome all you volunteers thank you for your
The pictures we want to make - Saguaro National Park
Monsoon clouds over Saguaro National Park I came to Arizona with an agenda, a list of essential photos for the U.S. Highway 89 book project. I have a vision for the book, I can see it almost page-by-page. For the last 10 days, I have been knocking out pictures that fit into that overall vision. I can get overly task-oriented, to the point where, if I'm not careful I could miss out on other great pictures. At Glacier National Park, I was intending to photograph the classic view of Grinnell P
Lighthouse (Ruby Tuesday)
Join here @ Mary’s Place known as the Teach! I took that picture while we were on the highway. I saw the lighthouse but the car was very fast so I quickly turned my head around and able to captured it. Thank God my 200 mm lens was installed in my camera. Happy Ruby Tuesday everyone!

AC/DC’s new release “Black Ice” is due out in October, but until then it looks as if Australians are really diggin the older tunes and the band is gaining new fans every day. TNT: #47 Highway To Hell: #61 Dirty Deeds Done Cheap: #62 Who Made Who: #74 The Razor’s Edge: #92 That’s pretty impressive for albums as old as
Police Action at Treasure Island Closes the Bay Bridge Exits Today
Let’s say you live in San Francisco’s “newest community”, Treasure Island. Now just how on Earth are you supposed to get back home from the Outside Lands of San Francisco when the only eastbound exit from the Bay Bridge to TI is blocked by the California Highway Patrol? (Hey, are they’re still hiring? Yes!) Seriously, unless you had a boat, you’d have to wait to get back to your non-rent-controlled abode. Click to expand: Say hello to my little friend, a Remington Police Magnum 870P 12-gau
Super Target in Alamo Ranch...
It isn't like we haven't been into a Super Target before - after all, they have one just up the street at Bandera Pointe and another over off of Highway 151 and Loop 410, but now that we have our very own in Alamo Ranch, I might actually go there from time to time. If you have been down to 1604 and Culebra, you can already feel the influx of traffic in just the past month or so. No, it isn't 1604 and Bandera bad or heaven forbid, 1604 and 281 horrendous, but still, you get the feeling that as m
