Football questions this week.

1.) Can the Colts offense get past the Bears defense?
2.) Can the Bears offense get past themselves?
3.) Is Norv Turner the next Dallas Cowboys Head Coach?
4.) Did Jerry Jones really consider Wade Phillips as a possible candidate?

Still gotta love those Saints

Even though they were no match for the Chicago Bears today, ya gotta still love those Saints. A year after Katrina the New Orleans Saints were definitely a rare bright spot in the Big Easy.
And you know Cowboy Maloney has to be breathing a little easier today!
Now let’s see what the AFC game brings.
Go Indianapolis Colts !

Game Preview - Week 12, Colts at Chargers

Source: Associated Press TIME: 08:15 P.M. EST VENUE: Qualcomm Stadium Peyton Manning has had plenty of days in the NFL he’ll want to remember. Two games against the San Diego Chargers last season aren’t among them. Manning will look to put one of his worst performances further in the rearview mirror Sunday as the Indianapolis Colts try for their fourth straight win in a matchup with the Chargers - the team that also knocked the Colts out of last season’s playoffs. Indianapolis (6-4) has bo

Paul’s pro pigskin prognostications week 12

Last week saw a slip to 8-7-1 making the prognostications 98-58-1 for the season. Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh: Ocho Cinco is on the shelf this evening, exactly for what has yet to be determined. That means the Bungals have about 2 chances this evening, especially coming off a short week especially coming off an overtime tie. Steelers 31 Bengals 3 Houston @ Cleveland: Two teams going nowhere, but at least the Browns are at home. Browns 28 Texans 20 Tampa @ Detroit: The Bucs are gearing up for t

Still Hope For The Chargers?

In a year that will someday be defined by "Hope" (whether it is warranted or not), can we say that the Chargers truly have any? Well, technically they aren't out of it, thanks to the horrible level of competition provided by the rest of the AFC West. But do the Chargers really have any hope for a playoff berth, or are they headed for an offseason filled with some much needed "Change"? Let's take a closer look... The AFC Wildcard berth currently looks like this: With the Jets, Steelers, T

Ron Glover’s NFL Power Rankings: Week 12

Alright TSF Family the argument was brought to me last week that the New York Giants should be ranked number one instead of the Tennessee Titans due to the impressive wins that the Giants have mounted both in and out of the Conference. What I am going to do today is allow you, the fan decide who sits at the top of the NFL food chain this week. But for now I’ll list the top two as I see it. 1. Tennessee Titans 10-0 (1): Okay so three of their wins came against teams with winning record

Cowardly About the Lions, Bucs Must Beware the Oh

Cowardly About the Lions, Bucs Must Beware the Oh By JC De La Torre JC De La Torre's Tampa Bay Sports Blog The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take their show on the road Sunday to Detroit, where they face the Bizarro-Patriots, the Detroit Lions. The Lions are 0-10 and making a run to become the first team since the 1976 expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers to go winless for an entire non-strike shortened NFL season (the Indianapolis Colts finished 1982 strike year 0-8-1). While playoff favorite Tampa Bay sh

The Once And Future San Diego Chargers

If you could have received a "message from your future self" during your FFL draft that said before Week 12 there were three teams in the NFL with a better record than the San Diego Chargers, you wouldn't have been too surprised. You were planning to draft your fantasy team to account for a great Charger team -- Tomlinson, Rivers, Gates. But if you had received a message that said before Week 12 there were three divisions in the NFL with a better record than the San Diego Chargers, your fa

Inside Slant - 11/20/08

Source: USA Today This is what the Chargers dreamed about — playing the Indianapolis Colts with so much at stake. But in November? Afraid so as the 4-6 Chargers tangle with the surging Colts Sunday night with San Diego’s season hanging in the balance. Trying to spit out a stretch that has seen three losses in four games, the Chargers are playing without any wiggle room. They trail the AFC West-leading Broncos by two games with six to play. And by the time the Chargers kick off Sunday, it co

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins NFL Betting Odds & Spreads

There is no question that one of the more interesting games this weekend comes in the form of the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots, as few can forget the performance Ronnie Brown and the Dolphins put on the Patriots back in week 3 when Miami took home a 38-13 win at Foxborough. Since that win the Dolphins have won 5 of 7 and now sit tied with the Patriots for 2nd in the AFC East at 6-4. Last week the Dolphins were able to sneak past the Raider 17-15, while the Pats lost a heartbrea

Houston Texans vs. Cleveland Brown NFL Betting Odds & Spread

The Sunday the 4-6 Cleveland Browns get ready the 3-7 Houston Texans, in a game that likely will have little effect on the playoff race this season. Brady Quinn got his first win as a starter this season, as the Browns were able to squeak by the Bills 29-27, as for the Texans they had another rough week without their starting quarterback as they fell 33-27 on the road to the Colts. Now for those of you looking to do a little NFL betting this weekend, the oddsmakers have the Browns 3 point fav

Week 12 NFL Power Rankings

There’s just no way you don’t put the 10-0 Titans at the top of the NFL power rankings.  Did I mention they are 10-0? The Giants are scary good.  They keep winning and they keep doing it in convincing fashion.  This week New York is a 3 point favorite at Arizona. Carolina is 8-2.  They’ve won some close games, but that should give this team character down the home stretch. The Tampa Bay Bucs just keep on getting better.  NFC offenses are powerless against them. When the Jets beat the Patrio

Random thoughts a week before Thanksgiving

We are a week away from Turkey Day, or as Garfield calls it, "the Super Bowl of eating." It's a good time for my biannual Random Thoughts. 1. How many Cinci and Pittsburgh fans will be present on the NFL thread for the NFL Network's Thursday game? (I won't- Georgia Tech/Miami has more at stake) 2. Speaking of NFLN, am I the only one who hates these non-Sunday NFL games? For decades, I could watch Saturday NFL games on NBC, CBS, or FOX. Now, I need to use the internet, not the TV! (The o

NFL Picks - Week 12

There’s really no way I can bring myself to bet on the Bengals this year, even as 10.5 point dogs, so the play on Thursday night has to be the Steelers by two touchdowns, 28-14. The Giants are giving 3 at Arizona.  Road dogs can be killers in the NFL, but the Giants are too good right now.  New York 31, Arizona 20. I faded the Titans last week thinking their run had to eventually come to an end.  Now, I’m not so sure.  They are 5 point favorites at home against the Jets.  Feels like about tim

NFL Odds: Week 12

Thursday Night Football this week features the Cincinnati Bengals at the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Oddsmakers aren’t giving the Bengals much of a chance (with good reason) and have made them 10.5 underdogs against Pitt. The New York Giants continue their campaign to repeat as Super Bowl Champions at Arizona this week.  The Cardinals can clinch their division with a win, but the Giants are favored by 3 points. Can the undefeated run continue for the Tennessee Titans?  They get the Jets in Tennesse

The AFC Playoff Picture: Week 11-12

The first came two weeks ago, and now it’s time for another look at how the AFC playoff scenarios might play out. Part of the analysis here is based on the rankings I provided in that post, so keep that in mind. Starting with the Ravens: their loss to the Giants doesn’t change much. It’s tempting to make the “they can’t beat a good team” argument, but I’m not sure I’d buy it. There really aren’t any “bad” teams in the NFL. Even the Bengals and the Lions are capable of beating anyone, it’s just

Sunday Night Football: Colts - Chargers Preview and Prediction

Over the last few years, few teams have given the Indianapolis Colts as many problems as the San Diego Chargers, who they face this weekend on Sunday Night Football. We all remember when the Chargers ended Indy’s win streak and quest for a perfect season two years ago, as well as two losses at their hands last year. Things should change this year. The Colts have finally started putting it together of late. The running game has been efficient, and other than dropped passes, the Colts have moved

Texans Tackling to be Tested in Browns game

Steve Slaton is key to a Texans victory over the Cleveland Browns Sunday.  As poor as the Texans tackled in last week’s game against the Colts, the Brown’s tackling may have been worse against the Bills.  Slaton is coming off his best running game as a Texan.  He ran all over the Indianapolis Colts in last weeks loss.  One of his runs went for 71 yards which is the current Texans record.  Sunday’s game is going to be won or lost for the Texans on the defensive side of the ball.  The Texans ha

Who to start? Week 12

Who are some sleepers to start on your fantasy team in Week 12? Josh Gaier has the answers. Below is a list of sleepers at each position and the projected top five players for every position for the Week 12. Quarterback: Matt Cassel, New England Patriots Cassel was on fire last week against the Jets and looks to continue his excellent play Sunday against the division-rival Dolphins. After throwing for 400 yards, matching Tom Brady’s career total of 400-yard games, Cassel and the Patriots kno

Bringing Pacman back indicates Jerry Jones has lost his mind

The NFL's poster child for foolish behavior is returning to the Cowboys. That's right, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated Pacman Jones, giving him yet another opportunity to embarrass the NFL, the Cowboys and his family. Jerry Jones didn't have to take him back, but he did. I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not. Neither are you. Nor should we be. These days, Jerry is beyond help. Frankly, he needs counseling. His intense desire to win a championship, an admirable quality,
