Is it World War III ?
As long as I can remember I have wondered what World War III would be like. Not if, but, when.
As I watch the news and see the Media publishing private comments by world leaders that was picked up by a microphone, I can not fathom how anyone can see that as right. No wonder we can’t win a battle anymore, we tell our enemies everything. And if that was not enough we have our own people trashing our leaders and making us look like a small fragmented society instead of a world leader.
I admit my ignorance on the critical issues, [...]

Isolationism as reverse psychology
Sometimes, thoughts just pop in my head and I wonder if they have any possible real value?
With all the problems in the world community today and the inability of fixing anything by anyone, I wonder what would happen if all of a sudden the United States just pulled out of every place that is not our soil and proclaimed…
“We are now going to practice Isolationsim”
Kill each other, we don’t care, go ahead, really, it’s ok. We believe we have everything we need to protect ourselves and our borders are now closed. It’s going to be a little tougher on [...]

What is the truth?
What is the truth ?
Does it matter?
Today it seems that the truth takes a backseat to the opinion. Truth, to many (at least the MSM) is not important, the opinion is. And how popular and how well marketed the opinion, how successful the story. And if the truth does not make the story as interesting, then just slant the opinion for the desired result.
Just look at the stories in the news. Is it truth or opinion that makes it to headlines?

Persepolis 2: Safeguard the Innocent
2,500 years ago, Cyrus the Great penned down what is regarded as the first declaration for human rights, affirming the right to freedom of worship. But centuries later, what is the situation of Iran’s largest religious minority? Note: images for this clip were lovingly borrowed from the feature film, “Persepolis.” Marjane Satrapi’s admirable production. She continues to serve as an inspiration for us all. A Nuclear Iran is Like a Nuclear Bin Laden
Saudi columnist Saleh Al-Rashed argued that the Gulf states should urge the West to attack Iran before it acquires nuclear weapons. Following are excerpts from the column:(1) A Nuclear Iran is Like a Nuclear Bin Laden "'There's no avoiding what there's no avoiding' – this adage came to mind when I read the pronouncement by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps commander Mohammad 'Ali Ja'fari, who said: 'My country is easily capable of closing the Straits of Hormuz, the main passag
Assassination Squads Training in Iran
Iraqi Shiite assassination teams are being trained in at least four locations in Iran by Tehran’s elite Quds force and Lebanese Hezbollah and are planning to return to Iraq in the next few months to kill specific Iraqi officials as well as U.S. and Iraqi troops, according to intelligence gleaned from captured militia fighters and other sources in Iraq. A senior U.S. military intelligence officer in Baghdad described the information Thursday in an interview with The Associated Press. He spoke
Our Allies And Iranian Sanctions
A lot is made by the Democrats that Bush works alone. That under an Obama administration, we would have a reapproachment with our allies and work together, as allies should, on common problems. I say BS in my loudest voice! Case in point. We all agree that Iran should not join the nuclear club and we are willing to use sanctions to pressure Iran to give up its nuclear weapons ambitions. A key sanction on the table was a ban on technology that would reduce Iran’s dependence on refined fuel pro

Peace with Iran!
Iran’s ties with American allies continue to expand. Iran, whose conventional forces have consistently recognized international borders (unlike Russia) can be a pillar of the peace in the Middle East. It is useful in Afghanistan and Iraq, and potentially useful in the Caucuses and Central Asia. War with Iran at this point benefits only Iraqi insurgents, the Taliban, and Russia. Peace with Iran benefits the global Peace, and helps us with many other objectives. Iranian president has said tha

Falling Oil Price, Record Oil Production, Empty Tankers
Readers with good memories might remember this post on large amounts of Iranian oil stored in tankers in the Persian Gulf. While the falling oil price in recent weeks has taken attention away from peak oil once again (exacerbated by a new production record [pdf]), I thought this snippet from Bloomberg was interesting - Iran Sells All Oil Held in Floating Storage Tanks, Shana Says. Iran sold all the crude it held in floating storage tanks, Shana reported, citing Ali Asghar Arshi, manager for in
Diplomacy Directives
The U.S. and Iran may be approaching a ‘cold peace’ according to Arshin Adib-Moghaddam at the Daily Star. He opines on the impetus; “states and societies, especially in the wider Arab and Muslim worlds, feel compelled to protect themselves from this penetrative source of instability, not least because governments are increasingly scrutinized by assertive civil societies from Cairo to Riyadh. These have made it that much more difficult for authoritarian states to favor regime survival over natio
A leader, not a dope
If there is one thing that Barack Obama has demonstrated it is that he can not handle “distractions.” Well as Jim Gerhaghty, National Review, demonsrates, the real world is full of distractions: We may be on the verge of winning in Iraq, but Afghanistan is getting tougher. Pakistan is still an unstable cauldron of extremism where America has limited options. Iran is seeking nukes and the Israelis have an itchy trigger finger. The Russian bear is in the woods again, stomping on Georgia. Chin
