Matt Leinhart Tag Page

Matt Leinart finally signed

The first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals signed a six-year contract.Out of 255 players taken in this years NFL Draft, Leinhart was the last to agree to a contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but you can be assured it was way too much. ESPN reported that the contract was worth a max of $50 million, yes, $50 million. When the 10th overall pick and the second quarterback taken is worth $50 million there is something out of whack. No wonder the average family can not afford to go to a football game. And how does the 10th pick get almost [...]

Hook ‘em Horns

Texas 41 - USC 38
How sweet it is !! First college game I have watched in a long time. And well worth the time too. My wife made the comment that it looked like Texas was totally dependent on the play of Vince Young and that made her nervous. Well, true as it was, he came through in the clutch and won the game. Congratulations TEXAS !
USC is no doubt a great team, and this was a great game by all accounts. Matt Leinhart played a great game as did LenDale White & Reggie Bush. This game will certainly go [...]

Bills @ Cardinals Preview

This week the 4-0 Bills travel to sunny Arizona to take on the 2-2 Cardinals. You read that right, the 4-0 Bills, how awesome is that? There has been a lot of talk this past week concerning how “real” Buffalo is this season. Opinions vary from “very” to “lets wait and see”. Even the renowned “Buffalo Bills lover” Anthony Bialy checks in this week with his opinion on the Bills. Many pundits called last week’s game against the Rams at “trap game”. I strongly disagreed as the Rams are terrib

NFL Week One - 12 Hour Live Blog

Posted by Chad Ruter on September 7, 2008 Post Writing Editors Note: This beast took place over a 12 hour and 37 minute time span, and is over 11,000 words long.  You best bring your A-game if you plan on getting through it all.  Good luck, and enjoy! Chad (10:01:14 AM) We’ve been called crazy.  We’ve been called nuts.  Hell, it’s quite obvious that we need girlfriends.  Nonetheless, Justin and I are going to do something that we’ve never done before.  We’re going to embark on a journey that on

The Calm Before the Storm

Posted by Justin Jacobs on August 29, 2008 What is this?  A Friday post from your friends at TOUTS?   It must be a holiday weekend or something. With college football starting and the NFL less than a week away, I thought I’d get everyone caught up with what is going on at TOUTS. College Football preview: Unfortunately I’m not incredibly educated when it comes to the college brand of football, so I’m going to make this preview short and sweet.  Here are five things you probably already know abou

2008 Fantasy Football Preview (Part 2)

Posted by Chad Ruter on August 26, 2008 Justin is the expert on drafting strategy and the such - so I’ll just get right down to business and give you my rankings.  He did have the perfect analogy for the fantasy baseball vs football argument.  I think he memorized that line from one of the 18 times he’s read Committed. If Mark St. Amant didn’t write that book, I question what books Justin would re-read. NOTE: I didn’t read Justin’s rankings before I did my own.  To see his rankings, click here.

Fantasy Football Preview

Posted by Justin Jacobs on August 25, 2008 Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the official TOUTS 2008 Fantasy Football Preview Thingy… Tomorrow Chad will post his rankings, but for today you are stuck with me. By now you may have already drafted, and shame on you for that, I hope you didn’t pick up Matt Leinhart as your starting QB. You should be pretty familiar with all the names by now, so Chad and I just want to give you a refresher course before your draft. I have my first draft on Wednesd

Random NFL stuff

Wow, the 147 year old Kurt Warner beat out Matt Leinhart for the Arizona Cardinals starting QB job.  Around the jordoncooper.com headquarters we like both QBs but this was an unexpected development.  It is the exact opposite approach that the Green Bay Packers did.  Of course the other news of the day is that the Atlanta Falcons are making a big mistake in rushing along Matt Ryan.  I would comment on the situation in San Francisco but does it matter who plays there?  Also, if you are not going

NFL Power Rankings – Preseason Week 3

NFL Power Rankings – Preseason Week 3 Posted in NFL 2008, NFL Power Rankings, NFL Rankings by lloydvance on August 20th, 2008 (Philadelphia, Pa) — With the 89th NFL Season titled “Believe In Now” fast approaching, hope is springing eternal around the NFL as most teams are wrapping up training camps and  heading back to their own facilities.  Even though everyone knows my stance on Preseason football - NFL full prices for exhibition games are agregious to most fans and I am sure I speak for e

Should the Falcons start Matt Ryan from week 1?

There are two theories on what to do with young QB’s. Throw him in there and let him learn, or let him watch from the sidelines and win the job. Here are all 32 teams and how their QB’s have been handled: Indianapolis: Peyton Manning was thrown into the fire from day one, leading the NFL in interceptions as a rookie. Since the rocky start he has been one of the best players in the NFL with a Super Bowl Championship in ‘07. New England: Tom Brady was a late round selection who won the job af

Donovan McNabb: "The best quarterback..."

Mornhinweg, I don't think so. Lurie, I think you may be right on this one. Everyone's favorite topic...Donovan McNabb. Though I don't believe that McNabb is a first ballot hall of famer (as Mornhinweg believes), I honestly think McNabb just might be, when healthy, the best quarterback in the NFC. The owner and I thinking alike. Let's took a look... McNabb Definitely Better Than:- Jason Campbell (Redskins), Matt Leinhart (Cardinals), Joey Harrington (Falcons), Rex Grossman (Bears), Jon Kitna (L

Deuce’s Ramblings: Fantasy Football Primer - Quarterbacks

Good day to all your fantasy football so called gurus out there, Deuce Dale is back as the fantasy football “expert” on SportsOpinion.ca. Over the next week or so I am going to go position by position, who I like, who I don’t, who’s my sleepers, who’s my man crushes, and I will finish it off with an overall draft strategy that will help you win your pool. Let’s start things off with Quarterbacks. The Elite: There is no doubt where the elite of the quarterbacks lie and that is in the AFC. Tom

Kim Kardashian wants a lot of kids

Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian hit up the Matt Leinhart 2nd Annual celebrity bowling night benefit yesterday at the Lucky Strikes Lanes in Hollywood. Vivica Fox, Jalen Rose, and Diana’s son Evan Ross also attended the event. Vivica has that stance like “come and get it if you capable.” To see a few pics and find out how many kids Kim Kardashian wants Kim Kardashian talking in a recent interview about having kids had these things to say: “Having sis kids is amazing; it’s exactly what I

Area Sports News

Sorry to be late on this one. Congratulations to Claremont High School sophomore Kori Carter, who won a state championship in the 300-meter hurdles on May 31st. Carter also placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Here is a video of the 300-meter state final (Carter is in lane 5 wearing a red top). It's worth noting that the three runners who placed ahead of Carter in the 100-meter hurdles were all seniors. Claremont tied for 9th place in the team standings with Carter scoring all of the Wo

Mismatched Marketing - Inspiration from Gladwell's New Book Outliers

As many of you who know me realize, I am a dyed-in-the-wool fan of Malcolm Gladwell. Not an enthusiast, not a respectful advocate or even brash supporter - I am a tattoo-wearing zealot. He is a master story teller, a mirror to human insight, a sensai for modern times, an entertaining intellectual ride and a gatherer of odd pieces of information to form quite powerful and new conclusions on what hidden rules drive the world we live in. The Tipping Point effectively created the pillars for my
