No I am not AWOL
I have just been busy with all these other things. We took a little road trip on Saturday to Philadelphia, Mississippi. And I have been spending most my time on the computer working on CybersMusic.com.
The road trip was nice. Just to get away by ourselves (the wife & I), driving …
Elias ties OT record with winner
Patrik Elias scored the 15th regular season overtime goal of his career to tie the NHL record and lift the Devils to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Elias tied Jaromir Jagr and Mats Sundin for the most OT goals in NHL history. Tonight's came with 2:14 left in overtime. Elias split between Flyers defensemen Andrew Alberts and Ossi Vaananen before putting a backhand between goaltender Martin Biron's pads for his second goal of the game and his 10th of the season. El

OK, so at least we'll install the car seat this weekend.
HOOOOOO BOY, did the comments on that last post give me a chuckle. Trust me when I say that above all else, they were helpful. I had not thought about something as simple as just making a list and placing it somewhere near the bag, for instance. I have said before that I am not much of an outside-the-box thinker, so to someone like me, “packing a bag” means… well, PACKING A BAG. As in, I believed I should have prepared a fully packed suitcase with everything I could possibly need and want ready
Obama uses Zune. Will iPod fans demand apology?
Posted by Eric Benderoff at 5:25 p.m. Here’s what we know about President-elect Barack Obama and gadgets: He loves his BlackBerry. He’s a Mac, not a PC. He was seen working out with a Zune. Wait...a Zune? Not an iPod? Is it too late for a recount? Obama’s alleged choice of digital music player has sparked so much buzz in the techie blogosphere that all the incoming traffic briefly crashed the Web site of the Philadelphia paper that broke the story. “We didn’t anticipate this kind of attent
Sutter won't declare Clemmensen his No. 1
Although goaltender Scott Clemmensen will start his fourth consecutive game for the seventh time in eight contests tonight in Philadelphia, Devils coach Brent Sutter isn't ready to declare Clemmensen his No. 1 goaltender. "I'm not going to say that," Sutter said a short while ago. "I guess I'm going to let people assume what they want to assume. We know we still need both goalies and just a decision we made among the coaching staff and Lou (Lamoriello) and we feel Clemmer is the guy tonight.
Christmas Traditions
I guess because I just wrote a bit about this for the Savvy Source Philadelphia blog, I've been thinking about my holiday traditions, and the ones I want to share with my daughter. This makes me think about the traditions I grew up with and what my favorite memories of Christmas are. My most intense memories are of my maternal grandparent's house. They lived far, far away from us in St. Joseph, Illinois (we were in Albuquerque when I was little). So the first memory comes from the long, long d
Antonio Pierce Thursday
Transcript of Antonio Pierce's meeting with the media Thursday: I would like to open this conference up obviously by stating that I am not speaking about any events that happened Friday or Saturday morning. If there are any questions about the New York Giants as a team and going forward and about the Philadelphia Eagles I will answer, but again I will repeat myself, I am not answering any questions or tell you anything that happened on Saturday. How do you personally stay focused on the p
Blago's Hybrid Cessna
Hold you nose for more Democrat hypocrisy. This time it's Blago taking the state plane to see Obama in Philadelphia in order to beg him for federal money to bail him out of his economic disaster here in Illinois. The Daily Herald ran the story today. Of course, Rod has been flying from his home in Chicago to work in Springfield - and back - for years. All at taxpayers expense. And after 181,671 Illinois jobs were lost in November.

Politico writes about Chris Matthews' rumblings about running for US Senate in Pennsylvania. NBC News execs think it's a ploy to get a better deal with his contract (which would be hilarious), but it looks to be pretty serious. The garrulous host of the show "Hardball with Chris Matthews" has already picked out a home in Philadelphia to establish residency in the state, according to a Democratic operative in discussions with him about a potential candidacy. Over Thanksgiving weekend, at his vaca
Obligatory Chris Matthews Update (Part II).
Well That Didn't Take Long. No sooner had the (electronic) ink dried on our first post of the day did we learn that Mr. Matthews was eyeing houses in PA and thinking about giving up his pre-prime time perch on MSNBC. From The Politico this morning: "Chris Matthews is dead serious about running for the Senate in Pennsylvania — and is shopping for a house in the state and privately discussing quitting MSNBC as proof of his intense interest, according to NBC colleagues, political operatives and f
Mark Sanford - A Rising Star to the South
While North Carolina's current and next Governors were in Philadelphia begging for federal bailout money, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has been taking the opposite position. He has been urging Congress to reject the increasing financial paternalism of throwing taxpayers' money at various problems. Sanford's main objection is the use of borrowed money. In an interview with Stateline.org he said, "There’s just something mathematically and morally wrong with having folks from across the

The case of a 39-year-old single mom who fooled around with two boys at a sleepover has gone to trial and the jury is about to deliberate. Her tale of what happens is much different from the boys'. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
On the Road to Nowhere
December 4, 2008 in Obamamama, The Wonder Woman Chronicles, What the Fudge?, Yo I know that many of you are excited about the inauguration of the President Elect. So much so, that hotels are sold out from Virginia all the way to *gasp* Philadelphia. Yes, we are getting leads for groups and bus tours at my hotel. When my sorority was in DC, we almost shut down the area around the Capitol and we were about 100,000. There are almost 2 million folks expected to hit the DC area. TWO MILLION. L
