A new Political Network?
This sounds like an excellent idea. I thought I might be the only blogger on the planet with these feelings, Thanks Political Football !
The answer to your question is NO, you are NOT the only one who is sick of Party Politics. Political FootBall echoes your sentiments. Heck, maybe we …
Obama Policymakers Turn to Campaign Tools
Network of Supporters Tapped on Health-Care Issues By Ceci Connolly Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, December 4, 2008; Page A01 Barack Obama's incoming administration has begun to draw on the high-tech organizational tools that helped get him elected to lay the groundwork for an attempt to restructure the U.S. health-care system. Former senator Thomas A. Daschle, Obama's point person on health care, launched an effort to create political momentum yesterday in a conference call
I sabotaged myself
I think Michael Jackson said it best when he said, "They’re out to get you, better leave while you can." God, I wanted that job. I fought hard for that job. I put myself through a lot emotionally and physically for that job. Ultimately, watching the show last night was really hard. I waited nervously all day for it to air because I knew it was my night to go. I knew I yelled at Dyshaun, and last night I was reminded of why. Dyshaun came up with the nickname “Chlamydia” for me in week 4. He s
LIVE-BLOGGING the NETWORK of MICHIGAN EDUCATORS CONFERENCE
It’s 7:00 a.m., December 4 in Lansing, Michigan—the first day of the annual Network of Michigan Educators conference. I’ll be live-blogging (or sort-of live blogging, posting sporadically over the two days) for both days of the conference. Normally, as Secretary of the Network, I take minutes, which are archived in The Place Where Minutes Go to Languish, before they’re routinely approved at a meeting 3 months down the road. But the focus of this group (more about us, in a minute) has been incr
Obligatory Chris Matthews Update (Part II).
Well That Didn't Take Long. No sooner had the (electronic) ink dried on our first post of the day did we learn that Mr. Matthews was eyeing houses in PA and thinking about giving up his pre-prime time perch on MSNBC. From The Politico this morning: "Chris Matthews is dead serious about running for the Senate in Pennsylvania — and is shopping for a house in the state and privately discussing quitting MSNBC as proof of his intense interest, according to NBC colleagues, political operatives and f
Matthews Ponders Quitting MSNBC
That, and other news, in today's Political Panorama. Politico reports that Chris Matthews is seriously considering a run for the Senate in Pennsylvania, and is even pondering whether to quit MSNBC before his contract expires. Michael Calderone and Josh Kraushaar write, "The garrulous host of the show "Hardball with Chris Matthews" has already picked out a home in Philadelphia to establish residency in the state, according to a Democratic operative in discussions with him about a potential can

Report: Matthews has picked out Pa. home
The Chris Matthews saga continues, with Politico reporting today that the "Hardballer" has picked out a home in Philadelphia to establish residency in the state ahead of a possible run for Senate. The report also says Matthews is also discussing with colleagues the possibility of quiting MSNBC before his contract expires in June. FYI...here's our report from last week that noted Matthews' meetings with state Democratic leaders. From Politico... Chris Matthews is dead serious about running f
Countdown To PA Society.

This year's flurry of fund-raisers, cocktail receptions and other opportunities to get your hob nobbed takes place next weekend (12-13 December). Tingles Advised to Quit MSNBC so Further his Senate Candidacy.....
All part of his master ploy to get under Obama's Oval Office desk.... Chris Matthews is dead serious about running for the Senate in Pennsylvania - and shopping for a house in the state and privately discussing quitting MSNBC as proof of his intense interest, according to NBC colleagues, political operatives and friends. Even so, some NBC insiders think it’s all simply a negotiating ploy to jack up his contract. The garrulous host of the show "Hardball with Chris Matthews" has already p
A Separate Reality: MSM Creates Alternate Reality for Obama Voters
A new poll commissioned by John Ziegler and conducted by Wilson Research Strategies confirms the results of Ziegler’s earlier Zogby commissioned poll: Obama voters live in an alternate reality created and fueled by the mainstream media (MSM). Furthermore, all of us folks that the MSM labeled as uneducated, lower class voters, primarily because we supported McCain/Palin (and cling to our guns and Bibles), had a significantly higher percentage of correct answers to the 13 survey questions:
A Tear in the NATO Bulwark
By Walter Mayr How should NATO approach Russia? Contrary to Germany, the Baltic countries and Poland want to enlarge the alliance to include Georgia and Ukraine. With NATO foreign ministers meeting this week, the alliance has hardly ever been so at odds. The road from “new” to “old” Europe passes through Russia. The 1,795-kilometer (1,115-mile) drive from the Estonian city of Narva through the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and on to Berlin passes through six countries and a divided politi

The Revile-y Factor
Jump to Comments From the Los Angeles Times: A year or so ago, at a dinner of media executives and a few journalists, one of the guests told this joke: “Rupert Murdoch, asleep in the middle of the night, is awakened by a flash of light. He sits up, rubs his eyes and sees Satan standing at the foot of his bed. ” ‘What are you doing here?’ the mogul demands. ” ‘I have come to offer you any deal you can imagine,’ the devil responds. ” ‘What do you want in return?’ says Murdoch, clearly intrigued.

Sundance Watch: Line-Up Announced
Todd McCarthy talks to Sundance Film fest director Geoff Gilmore about the Sundance 2009 competition feature, documentary and world cinema line-ups. One can only hope that given the current economic climate, last year reps the attendance peak of a fest that desperately needs to scale back anyway; if a lot of companies and folks can't make it this year, I'm going to be greedy and selfish and say, "all the more for us!" Even during the frantic party swag-hog years, it was always possible to tun
Robert Gates as “Secretary of War”
I don’t think we have discussed the ramifications of Robert Gates being kept on as Defense Secretary, but maybe we should. On it’s face, it appears that keeping Gates on to shepherd in the transition from Bush to Obama, was fine. My friend and colleague, Bruce Dixon, at Black Agenda Report, has written a provocative piece that should probably get us to put down the celebratory beverage and re-think the matter. Not that it will change the President-Elect’s mind, especially after all the hell t
