Hook ‘em Horns

Texas 41 - USC 38
How sweet it is !! First college game I have watched in a long time. And well worth the time too. My wife made the comment that it looked like Texas was totally dependent on the play of Vince Young and that made her nervous. Well, true as it was, he came through in the clutch and won the game. Congratulations TEXAS !
USC is no doubt a great team, and this was a great game by all accounts. Matt Leinhart played a great game as did LenDale White & Reggie Bush. This game will certainly go [...]

Top 5 BCS Games from the First 10 Years of the BCS

Earlier this week, CBS Sportsline’s Dennis Dodd (who likely gets about 5,000 hate e-mails a week) ranked all 42 Bowl Championship Series games from the first 10 years of the BCS era from best to worst. In case you’re one of those people that sends Dodd weekly (or daily, if you’re that much in hate with him) hate mail and won’t click on the link, his top five consisted of the 2007 Fiesta Bowl (Boise State-Oklahoma OT thriller), the 2006 Rose Bowl (Texas over USC), the 2003 Fiesta Bowl (Ohio St

Some Random Questions on Husky Football

Alexis and Anderson, after clinching Rose Bowl berth   The Washington players are reportedly taking very well to new defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.  If Washington coach Tyrone Willingham had fired the previous coordinator Kent Baer in 2005 instead of 2007 (when he was forced to) and hired someone competent like Donatell, would Willingham be on the hot seat now?   Washington’s recruiting is going poorly so far.  If the University of Washington felt sufficient support to bring back Tyro

Twenty20 Cup finals day: Cricket in the Shadow of the Dollar

Tomorrow’s Twenty20 Cup finals day at the Rose Bowl will take place under the shadow of two other events to which the participating teams may or may not be invited. Firstly, the two finalists would in theory have qualified for the now postponed Twenty20 Champions League, although Kent and Durham wouldn’t have been eligible due to their scandalous fielding of players who took part in an Indian 20/20 League which had the wrong initial in the middle. Now, however, they will qualify for the not-e

NFL to join UCLA in Rose Bowl?

The NFL could return to Los Angeles in 2009 -- and the team might take up temporary residence in the Rose Bowl. At a cocktail reception Wednesday night in Century City, a group of local business leaders was treated to an encore of the Los Angeles Stadium presentation that recently was given to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The project is spearheaded by Majestic Reality run by developer Ed Roski (who also has a minority stake in the Lakers and Kings and chairs the USC Board of Trustees). Plan
