Disappearing DVD drive

HELP Desk Disappearing DVD drive After several months of use, my DVD drive suddenly became unrecognisable on my notebook. I can’t see it with Windows Explorer, and I don’t see it in my device manager. I’ve tried following tips on the web like deleting Upper/Lower filters in the Registry, putting my computer to sleep, and uninstalling DVD burner software, but they all don’t work. I’ve also updated my BIOS - this got the drive back for a while, but now it is gone again. Several people have told

Samsung U600 - A Summer of New Colours

Samsung Mobile are gearing up for a Q3 report that they hope to show as their busiest yet, mainly due to their unique approach to marketing the popular models of their mobile phones. If a mobile manufacturer realises that they have a particular model outselling all others they usually tend to roll out the same handset with the same specifications but in different colour schemes thus increasing sales with the extra personalisation. This was first seen a couple of years ago when Motorola found

Nokia 6300 - Nokia’s Take on Slim Phone

Despite being the global leader in terms of volume, Nokia have always shied away from slim phones. This was surprising due to the fact that the Finnish manufacturer had atleast one solution for all market segment, no matter how small the niche is. Infact, premium solutions like Nokia 8800 Sirocco is virtually unchallenged in its class since no other competitors ave fielded any solution in that price band. The LG Chocolate Pink, A New Style

On the mobile phone market, there are the mere mobile phones, and then there are those that stand out simply because of their style. My E71 experience

I received a Nokia E71 test unit about a week ago from Nokia care of Fleishman Hillard (thanks Olga Queen!). It came at a great time because I have been salivating at the thought of getting one of these popular devices for myself for a little while now. The first thing I did was to turn it on and take a couple comparative photos with my Nokia N73 (probably the worst Nokia phone I have ever used and thankfully soon to be forgotten) and my iPod: A common comment about the E71 is how slim it is
