I Hate Friday’s

I know, sounds weird uh. Well, Friday I work a regular day, then after work I go work a second job for a few hours. To start the weekend I wake up early on Saturday and go work another job, usually I am off for the weekend somewhere around noon on Saturday.
One thing I have learned over the last few years, it can always be worse. And although I don’t particularly like working the extra jobs I am thankful for them.
But not today!! I am going to move my Friday work to Saturday night and take [...]

It could have been good, with the celebrated deadpan comedian Nose collaborating for the first time with director Yuthlert Sippapak, who is known

Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some branches. Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go for a song. Today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived. Dinner For Two

No, not me and Zaini but me and Raimie. Zaini is outstation for a few days, so it's just the two of us here in KL. Raimie requested for a sushi dinner, and instead of going to Sushi King, I decided to try out Sushi Zen. Actually, Raimie wanted to go to Sushi Zanmai, but there was a very long queue there. I'm not keen to wait in line for an hour just to eat, no matter how popular the outlets are. Sushi Zen is not a "kaiten sushi" outlet so you have to order all your dishes. I just wish they hav

Saturday morning bento box

A couple of Saturdays ago, Jac dropped me off at the shops while she went to a dental appointment. I was hungry; I grabbed myself a chicken teriyaki bento box (AU$13.90) for brunch from Nagano Sushi (Carousel Shopping Centre food hall). Jac and I have shared one of these before. I was in the mood for vegetable tempura and teriyaki chicken and was looking forward to tackling this delicious combo. You get teriyaki chicken with cooked vegetables (cabbage and carrot) on rice, mixed tempura (eggpla

The Baconator and Animal, the restaurant

Gailor is obsessed with the Baconator. This is odd for someone who is a vegetarian, except that she says sushi and prime filet mignon don't count. The Baconator, if anyone isn't familiar with it, is Wendy's bacon burger made with two beef patties, six strips of bacon and two slices of cheese. Not that Gailor would ever eat one. But she likes to imagine the naming process. ... Sometimes she does a whole comedy routine about how they came up with the name, which I couldn't possibly do justi

Lose weight without cooking try the raw vegetable!

by Jessica A. Andersen Raw Foods diet sounds like a throwback to the early days of our society when everyone had a garden. The plan is similar to vegetarian diet plans in that most of the foods come from plant sources. Raw foods are thought to contain nutrients that are good for the body but tend to be lost in the canning and preserving process. The raw vegetable diet focuses on eating foods in their purest form. In fact, fruits, nuts, grains and most vegetables can be eaten without any cookin

Shopping and Sushi - Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

Jump to the full entry & travel map Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Saturday some of my flatmates and I (all minus Sarah) went to Glasgow.  I wanted to leave a little earlier so that I would have some time to get outside the city and see some of the surrounding sights, but no one else wanted to do that.  So we left around 12:30 by train and arrived at the Central station around 1:45.  From there we walked along the Clyde river a bit, then went to check out the cathedral,

KY eats - Nagomi Shabu Shabu at Jaya 33, PJ

The weather has been pretty miserable lately. The road is wet, sky gloomy, and laundry always damp and damned. However, this exact sort of pitiful weather is perfect for a bowl of hot porridge or some steamboat goodness. Which is why Cheesie and I decided to head to Nagomi Shabu Shabu at Jaya 33 for [...]

Menu Plan Monday - Week 5

VeganMoFo Day 13 Only half a week’s plan today, as we are away at a science fiction convention from Friday so we’ll be eating out all weekend, yummy! This week I will be including a few dishes from “Veganomicon (Vcon)” and “The Garden of Vegan (GoV)” as I attempt to catch up with my cookbook reviews Last week’s dinners were yummy! The recipes we tried from “Alternative Vegan” & “The Garden of Vegan” were very delicious and have been filed away in my brain for my upcoming reviews. M

Heavenly Fire

Chup and The Chief at the Homecoming parade. Homecoming will now be capitalized in this post always and forever. And now a word about my village of sister-in-laws. Saturday was the BYU Homecoming parade and football game. We all bundled up--it was snowing--and headed to the parade route. The only aspect to this event worth braving the cold is that revelers throw out fistfuls of candy. One does better to collect candy during one hour of the BYU Homecoming parade than one whole night of trick-or

Kona Kampachi Ceviche

As I’d mentioned, I was very fortunate to receive a very generous gift from the kind folks at Kona Blue, so as promised, I thought I’d share with you all the ways I put this delicious fish to good use. Today, I opted for another raw preparation of this sushi-grade, tender, fish that really lets it shine: ceviche. Also known as “cebiche” and “seviche,” the idea to this dish is simple: high quality, fresh fish, “cooked,” but without heat. Instead, you chemically cook the fish by employing a br

Justin & Kailee

Friday morning we decided to get out of the cold and head down to the sunny state of Arizona. Ok, so that's not really the reason we went down there, my brother Justin got married on Saturday! My brother has lived in Arizona since I was in 7th grade, so the whole fam flew down to be a part of Justin and Kailee's big day.Justin and Kailee met 7 years ago when Justin was working at Albertsons, though Kailee was too young to date Justin at the time, they never forgot each other, and I'm so glad th

Californication - Episode 2.04 - The Raw & the Cooked - Press Release

"The Raw & the Cooked" Hank and Karen throw a dinner party for a few close friends: Charlie and Marcy, who show up high, Ashby, Sonja, Julian and Mia. Becca and her new boyfriend Damien round out the group. Before everyone arrives, Hank pops the question, but Karen begs off to think it over. At dinner, it's revealed that Hank is the likely father of Sonja's baby. Becca stands up to Julian, much to Hank's delight. And Ashby nearly dies of an allergic reaction to sushi. At the end of the evening,

T Pain Ft. Every Corno Vocode TwoBit Rapper- “Like I Oughta” This’ll be my jam for a little bit, I think. Quite the weekend for me. Worked all weekend. Late night dinner and drinks every night. I fell asleep on the bus last night. Like the driver had to tap me on the shoulder at 2am and ask if I WAS ALRIGHT. Allow me to repeat myself, I FELL ASLEEP ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. I need more sleep. But I also need more time for fun. Hows that working out for you Jim? PRETTY POORLY. Hey God, I w

can’t take them anywhere

can’t take them anywhere So my sister and her husband finally took me out to dinner for my birthday.  I got to choose the restaurant. We went to this really cool place called Ra Sushi.   I should have known it was going to be a disaster.  First my sister complained about it being too loud in there.  They had some really awesome music playing.  I was enjoying it immensely. Then her husband started in on the waitress about how my sister is allergic to shellfish and she had better tell my sis
