Tornadocane
I guess you could say I am a little bit of a weather buff. Until Hurricane Katrina took a path that put us in the dark for several days and scared the daylights out of us, we (my wife and I) would look forward to a little stormy weather. Now, we are a little more leary of a big storm, yet we still like the rain with thunder and lightning.
Anyway, I found this posting at the Weather Channel to be very interesting and worth a look.

Signs You Have Grown Up
I received an email from my sister, uh, older sister with a list of things that make you realize you have grown up, or at least old.
2 things on this list really stood out to me.
You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
You watch the Weather Channel.
Now here is the real dilemma, I have heard songs I recognize playing in the background of the Weather Channel while I was watching it, or maybe a I should say listening to it. My computer desk faces away from the TV, so when I am on the computer I can not watch [...]
On-site news and information
W While "waiting" for the hurricane Gustav days before it was supposed to make a landfall, I was all out watching The Weather Channel for updates, for nothing is better than knowledge and first hand information in times like these natural disasters than from direct from the experts. It was actually no Lifetime movies for me; (why men don't like that channel? I wonder :-D). Anyway, I am grateful for the information which are helpful than hearing gossips and false information from folks. I... .
Darkness Descends on the Blogger’s Abode
I was noticing that it is rather dark outside my little window this morning. And I could hear hard rain hitting the roof. But only when I received an email from someone in South America asking me if I was alright did I go to the Weather Channel and find THIS. This storm is right on top of my house! That’s not very nice. Thank you for all the comments lately. I appreciate them. I ALWAYS want to know what you think about anything. It doesn’t even need to be about a post here. It coul
Cocktails and Hurricanes
Since the infamous hurricane season of 2004, it seems that ever year we are given the scary news of “This hurricane season will be even worse.” So, each year, you prep, you feverishly watch the Tropical Update on the Weather Channel and you wait. We have been very lucky the past four years. We have had a few hurricanes but nothing to be too concerned about. Now, today those of us in Florida prep, feverishly tune-in to the weather updates each night and wait to see what will be the outcome

Can some one check something for me?
Hey all, I'm on the coast of VA & of course, we're getting ready to get something from Hanna & of course I would like to watch the Weather Channel. I'm trying to watch the HD version of it (I know, I could go to the SD one) & I keep loosing the channel. I went to the point dish & it shows a signal strength of 17 on tr 32 of 61.5... If I go to tr 31, it's over 40! I did a little checking, & most tr's that are not spot beams are in the range of 30-50... Can some one check thei
